The Wind Energy Conversion System(WECS)based Doubly Fed Induction Generator(DFIG)has experienced a rapid development in the world,which leads to an increasing insertion of this source of energy in the electrical grids.The sudden and temporary drop of voltage at the network can affect the operation of the DFIG;the voltage dips produce high peak currents on the stator and rotor circuits,without protection,the rotor side converter(RSC)will suffer also from over-current limit,consequently,the RSC may even be destroyed and the generator be damaged.In this paper a new Direct Power Control(DPC)method was developed,in order to control the stator powers and help the operation of the aero-generator during the faults grid;by injecting the reactive power into the network to contribute to the return of voltage,and set the active power to the optimum value to suppress the high peak currents.The DPC method was designed using the nonlinear Backstepping(BS)controller associated with the Lyapunov function to ensure the stability and robustness of the system.A comparison study was undertaken to verify the robustness and effectiveness of the DPC-BS to that of the classical vector control(VC)using Proportional-Integral(PI)correctors.All were simulated under the Simulink®software. 展开更多

This congenital agranulocytosis, an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, is often first identified by a neonatal infectious syndrome. The deficiency in neutrophils increases susceptibility to bacterial and fungal infections. Prior to the availability of hematopoietic growth factors, the disease was associated with significant morbidity and early mortality. We present the case of a 17-month-old boy who was admitted to the pediatric emergency department at Hassan II University Hospital in Fes with skin abscesses. 展开更多

Cytosteatonecrosis of the newborn (CSNN), though rare, is a benign panniculitis that causes various skin lesions (hardened, purplish plaques/nodules). This condition can occur in infants of diabetic mothers or those who have experienced birth asphyxia and may be unfamiliar to some healthcare practitioners. CSNN can lead to complications such as life-threatening hypercalcemia and metabolic disorders. This case study reports on a two-week-old newborn with CSNN, admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit at the Pediatric Center of Mohammed VI Hospital in Marrakech. The infant, born to a diabetic mother, was initially treated for neonatal respiratory distress. Four days after discharge, a biopsy-confirmed the diagnosis of CSNN, revealing lesions on the scalp, thighs and neck. At 1.5 months, the patient developed a scalp abscess and hypercalcemia. Hypercalcemia was effectively managed with hyperhydration and diuretics, resulting in the normalization of calcium levels. Abdominopelvic and transthoracic cardiac ultrasounds were normal. By six months, the patient’s skin lesions had spontaneously regressed. 展开更多

The assessment of the thermal energy performance of earth-based buildings with respect to the semi-arid Mediter-ranean climate of Morocco is scarce,even if the country is historically known for its earthen dwellings.According to this need,this work aims to understand and evaluate the indoor thermal comfort and energy performances of passive building in two different locations.We have used EnergyPlus modeling tool and in addition,the moni-tored ten-day indoor temperatures in two different thermal zones in the test prototype to justify the empirical validation of Building Energy Model.The findings demonstrate,the use of compressed earth blocks coupled with passive design strategies provides better comfort and great sustainability.Thus,the summer discomfort hours are reduced about 12%for both cities compared to conventional building.However,the combination of semi-arid climate-responsive passive design has allowed to reach a thermal energy intensity reduction difference from 20 to 65 kWh.m^(-2).y^(-1). 展开更多

Bile duct injury (BDI) is a well-known complication of cholecystectomy and can lead to the formation of a variety of complications, including biloma. Once diagnosed, the appropriate treatment depends on the severity of the condition and can range from minimally invasive procedures to more invasive procedures. We report the case of a 31-year-old woman who exhibited postoperative bile leakage after a cholecystectomy and a CT scan revealed a left hepatic subcapsular biloma. The patient was managed conservatively with close monitoring. The biloma resolved on its own without any intervention. Bilomas are rare complication of cholecystectomy that can be managed conservatively with a wait and see approach, especially in asymptomatic patients. Close monitoring with imaging and laboratory parameters is crucial in the management of these patients. 展开更多

Serratia is an opportunistic pathogenic bacterium of the Enterobacteriaceae family, occasionally responsible for epidemics of nosocomial infections in critical departments;in particular in neonatal intensive care units Enterobacteriaceae form a large family of Gram-negative bacteria, which cause diseases of highly variable severity, due to distinct pathogenic mechanisms. This family is heterogeneous as it consists of about 30 genera of bacteria and more than 100 species. However, all these germs have in common their preferential location in the digestive system, some being part of the normal flora although they are also present in the environment. Several metabolic processes characterize this bacterial family. These include the ability to reduce nitrate to nitrite (for energy generation), ferment glucose, lack cytochrome oxidase, be aerobic or anaerobic, motile or immobile, … Enterobacteriaceae constitute more than 80% of the germs isolated in the laboratory: Escherichia, Salmonella, Shigella, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Serratia, Proteus, Morganella and Yersinia are the rods most often found. Regarding nosocomial infection to Serratia, this bacterium colonizes the respiratory, digestive and urinary systems of patients, mainly responsible for bacteremia, infections of the lower respiratory tract, urinary and skin infections. Through our work, we report the epidemic experienced in the neonatal intensive care unit MOHAMMED VI university hospital, mother-child hospital MARRAKECH MOROCCO for three months from December at February 2023 interesting 30 newborns whose clinical presentation was different, the positive diagnosis was based on blood and geographical samples taken by the bacteriology department to isolate the offending germs, the therapeutic management of our patients consisted essentially of various hygiene measures in association with dual antibiotic therapy based on meropenem and amikacin. The baobab, Adansonia digitata L. plays an important role in the economy of local populations. The oil from the seeds of the baobab fruit is nowadays highly prized because of its numerous cosmetic and therapeutic applications and its composition of unsaturated fatty acids, sterols and tocopherols. However, unlike refined oils, locally extracted baobab oil has not undergone purification operations to ensure its quality. Only a filtration on special cloths is carried out after decantation. Indeed, the oil obtained after pressing is cloudy because of the presence of various impurities. It therefore requires treatment operations to make it more attractive and of higher quality. Therefore, in order to provide innovative solutions to local companies to improve the quality of vegetable oils, a study of clarification (treatment) of crude oil is necessary. An experimental device has been developed in the laboratory. It includes a glass column and a filter bed of dune sand and activated carbon. This study has shown the efficiency of the experimental device. Indeed, the activated carbon, thanks to its adsorbing power, has allowed a significant decrease in turbidity at the 5% threshold, from 14.61 NTU for the raw oil to 0.08 NTU for the oil filtered on 3% carbon and 0.033 NTU for the oil filtered on 5% carbon. That is to say an abatement higher than 95%. This decrease in turbidity could be correlated with the decrease in brown index from 187.39<sup>a</sup> for the initial crude oil to 128.53<sup>d</sup> for the oil treated with 3% activated carbon versus 187.59<sup>a</sup> for the oil filtered on cloths. The lowest brown index was observed with the filtration using 5% activated carbon (35.99<sup>b</sup>). Thus, for the yellowness index, only the filtration on 5% charcoal allowed to obtain a significant decrease in yellowness. Through our observation we report the clinical diagnosis of a newborn 13-day age with pleuro-pulmonary staphyloccocia point of departure cutaneous, thus the paraclinical explorations performed in our patient therapeutic management and evolutionary profile after a 3-month decline. Nosocomial Klebsiella variicola Infection in Neonatal Intensive Care: A New Emerging Pathogen

Klebsiella variicola is a human pathogen that has been misidentified as K. pneumoniae. This misidentification has led to a lack of understanding of important clinical and biological aspects of this bacterial species. It is responsible for serious and potentially fatal infections, with a prevalence of multi-resistance to routine antibiotics. We present through three clinical observations, the case of three newborns having been hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit and whose evolution was complicated by the occurrence of a nosocomial infection in front of which a blood culture was done on blood agar, with a manual antibiogram on antibiotic disks, isolated the germ Klebsiella variicola. The management of the newborns was initially centered on non-invasive ventilation with a bi-antibiotic therapy based on carbapenem and amikacin for two newborns and switched to colymicin for the third case. Newborn follow-up was based on assessment of general condition, clinical signs of infection, as well as a biological control made of a blood count, a c-reactive protein, a complete ionogram, and a blood culture, every four days or if signs of clinical call. The evolution was favorable for two cases with good clinical and biological improvement, and complicated by death due to alveolar hemorrhage in the third case. Given the high pathogenicity of this germ, and the frequency of misidentification, it is crucial to know the clinical spectrum of Klebsiella variicola infections in neonatal intensive care units, in order to adapt the antibiotic therapy and to mitigate the fulminant evolution of this germ. 展开更多

This pathogen very rarely causes neonatal sepsis. The most common infections caused by Pantoea SPP are septic arthritis or synovitis, meningitis frequently complicated by brain abscess, upper respiratory infections, and peritonitis. We present the case of a premature infant who presented neonatal respiratory distress and whose evolution was complicated by the occurrence of a nosocomial infection for which a blood culture was performed isolating the germ Pantoea SPP. The patient’s management was initially centered on non-invasive ventilation with antibiotherapy based on carbapenem and aminoglycoside. Due to the clinical and biological worsening, the neonate was intubated and sedated and put on colymicin. The evolution was unfavorable marked by a death at 16<sup>th</sup> days of life. Considering the high pathogenicity of this germ and its multi-resistance to antibiotics, it is crucial to know the clinical spectrum of Panteoa SPP infections in neonatal intensive care units, in order to palliate the fulminant evolution of multifocal attacks due to this germ. 展开更多

The Saghro massif constitutes a vast metallogenic province with numerous deposits and shows of base metals (lead, zinc, copper) and precious metals (gold and silver), besides various useful substances (talc, pyrophyll... The Saghro massif constitutes a vast metallogenic province with numerous deposits and shows of base metals (lead, zinc, copper) and precious metals (gold and silver), besides various useful substances (talc, pyrophyllite, barite, fluorite). Silver/lead occurrences are concentrated along the Cryogenian Imiter series and moderately at Boumalne and Sidi Flah. Copper occupies the plutonic intrusions and intrusive rocks of the East-Central Saghro while barite deposits are widespread throughout the Cambrian cover of the East Saghro in contact with the Ediacaran basement. To justify this distribution, the new contributions of the cartography and the organic geochemistry of the black shales of Jbel Saghro have clearly shown the particularity of the Imiter black shales in terms of the richness in organic matter (TOC = 0.18%), the blackish color and the friability. The Boumalne and Sidi Flah groups present some similarities with the Imiter group, such as the sub-equatorial structuring, the friable pelites and the richness in organic matter (Boumalne TOC = 0.11% and SidiFlah TOC = 0.16%), which is a quite good show that requires to reinforce the exploration works. For Western Saghro in the Iknioun and Qalaa’t M’Gouna groups, the variations in the thickness of the volcanic cover show an irregular paleotopography with hard, greenish, organic-poor pelitic sediments (TOC = 0.01 to 0.04%). We can conclude that the formation of Imiter-type silver concentrations requires the combination of the sedimentological, the volcanic and structural factors. For Imiter-type silver these factors are: a fine pelitic and argillic casing deposited in a confined environment, a basic volcanism source of metals and other intermediate to acid generated by the hydrothermalism and heat, a convenable paleotopography and a network of fracturations to trap the mineralizations. 展开更多

Phys Rev B, 1996, 53(15): 9528. Variable range hopping (VRH) conduction in the insulating three-dimensional n-CdSe samples has been studied over the entire temperature range from 0.03 to 1 K. In the absence of a magnetic field, the low temperature conductivity a of the three samples (A, B and C) obeys the Mott VRH conduction with an appropriate temperature dependence in the prefactor (a = σ0 exp [- (T0/T)]^p with p ≈ 0.25). This behavior can be explained by a VRH model where the transport occurs by hopping between localized states in the vicinity of the Fermi level, EF, without creation of the Coulomb gap (CG). On the contrary, no Efros-Shklovskii VRH is observed, suggesting that the density is constant in the vicinity of the EF. 展开更多

In continuation of our previous paper of the anharmonic potentials analysis through the Floquet representation, we performed in this work a systematic calculation of the diatomic vibrational energy levels as well as the corresponding wave functions. The solution of Schr<span style="white-space:nowrap;">&#246;</span>dinger equation according to Morse potential, which is a suitable model to describe the diatomic vibrational spectra, has been introduced;thus the explicit formulas to the second order have been established. As an illustration, the dissociation energies of some molecules species (<em>i</em>.<em>e</em>. ScN, LiH, Cl<sub>2</sub> and NO) have been computed, as well as the wave functions and the corresponding probability densities, relating to the (ScN) molecule have been represented. Background: Implant placement using a conventional surgical guide and digital surgical guide techniques is well documented in the literature. The most frequently reported disadvantages of conventional surgical guide placement are lack of accuracy in implant placement when compared to three-dimensional assessment in digital technique. Other factors listed are longer time duration and the need for impression techniques. In this case report, the authors present a comparison between the two techniques and the time taken between both cases one done conventionally and another case by digital technique. Case Presentation: For the digital surgical guide, a 44-year-old, male reported with the chief complaint of missing teeth needing replacement was considered. For the conventional technique, a female patient aged fifty-seven who had gone through various dentists with an existing bridge was considered. This patient wanted a good outcome at a reasonable cost. In both cases, molars were missing and needed replacement. The steps for digital flow for a surgical guide and step-by-step conventional methods are both highlighted in this article. Conclusion: Hence the digital technique saved time and was accurate when compared to the conventional in our experience. 展开更多

The objective of this study was to determine the polyphenol, flavonoid and tannin content and the antioxidant power of methanolic extracts from the different parts of the Senegalese baobab fruit. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of saponosides, tannins, alkaloids, sterols, flavonoids, coumarins and total sugars in all extracts from the fruit parts. </span><span style="font-family:""><span style="font-family:Verdana;">The total polyphe</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">nol content was determined by the folin-ciocalteu method. This method is based on the quantification of the total concentration of hydroxyl groups present in the extract. In an alkaline medium, the reagent of folin-ciocalteu, oxidizes the phenols to ion phenolates and partially reduces its hetero-polyacids</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">, hence the formation of a blue complex. The absorbance is read at 765 nm against</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> a control. The Flavonoids vere determined using </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">aluminum trichloride and sodium hydroxide. Aluminum trichloride forms a yellow complex with flavonoids and sodium hydroxyde forms a pink complex absorbing in the visible range at 510 nm.</span></span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">The alternative colorimetric method based on reactions with vanillin in an acidic medium made it possible to determine the tannin content. Absorbances were measured at 500 nm.</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> The results show that the methanolic extracts of the fibers and shell have very high polyphenol, flavonoid and tannin contents. In fact, the polyphenol contents of the fiber (159.00 ± 0.93 μg EAG/mg extract) and shell (155.39 ± 0.89 μg EAG/mg extract) were much higher than those of the pulp (27.21 ± 0.26 μg EAG/mg extract) and seeds (18.36 ± 0.07 μg EAG/mg extract). Abdominal ultrasonography, computed tomography and MRI scans have revealed heterogenous bilateral renal cysts with a voluminous mass in the upper pole left kidney. Radical left nephrectomy with histopathologic and immunohistologic examination have confirmed the diagnosis of pleomorphic sarcoma. Sarcoma associated with adult polycystic kidney disease is extremely rare and does not have particular radiological or biological features when compared to primary renal sarcoma. 展开更多

In this paper,we present a detailed procedure to determine the semiconductor losses for both structures of a shunt STATCOM(Static Compensator),STATCOM based on Current Source Inverter(CSI)and STATCOM based on Voltage Source Inverter(VSI),both used for voltage unbalance compensation.As a first step,we study the VSI-based STATCOM and the CSI-based STATCOM used in high speed railway substations.Then we analyze the design and the sizing of the unbalance compensator in order to obtain an unbalance factor that does not exceed the limits imposed by the standards or by the energy provider.Following that,we compare the performances obtained with both structures VSI-STATCOM and CSI-STATCOM,after calculating the semiconductor power losses in the STATCOM converters.Finally,we validate our approach by simulation over real data of unbalance compensation caused by the new high-speed railway in Morocco.We use the tools MATLAB/Simulink/Simpowersys for performing our simulations. 展开更多
