The effect of δ ...Tensile tests of GH4169 alloy were performed at room temperature. Different fractions, distributions and shapes of δ phase was prepared by aging treated at 880 ℃, 930 ℃ and 980 ℃ for 5 h or 10 h. The effect of δ phase on the mechanical pro- perties of GH4169 alloy was investigated. The results show that 0.2% yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of GH4169 alloy increase by 61 MPa and 78 MPa respectively when the fraction of δ phase increases from 2.20% to 5.21%. Then, the ultimate tensile strength remains at 1 012 MPa even when the fraction of δ phase reaches 7.56%. The fraction effect of δ phase on the strength improvement of GH4169 alloy is more significant than morphology, and the critical fraction value is 5.21%. In addition, the elongation decreases by 14.1% when the fraction of δ phase increases from 2.20% to 7.56%. Excessive needle or short rod shaped 8 ohase is resoonsible for the reduction of eloneation.展开更多
AIM: To investigate the accuracy of intraocular pressure (IOP) as measured by a Reichert Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA), as well as the relationship between central corneal thickness (CCT) and IOP as measured by ORA, ...AIM: To investigate the accuracy of intraocular pressure (IOP) as measured by a Reichert Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA), as well as the relationship between central corneal thickness (CCT) and IOP as measured by ORA, Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAD, and dynamic contour tonometry (DCT). METHODS: A total of 158 healthy individuals (296 eyes) were chosen randomly for measurement of IOP. After CCT was measured using A-ultrasound (A-US), IOP was measured by ORA, GAT, and DCT devices in a randomized order. The IOP values acquired using each of the three tonometries were compared, and the relationship between CCT and IOP values were analyzed separately. Two IOP values, Goldmann-correlated IOP value (IOPg) and corneal-compensated intraocular pressure (IOPcc), were got using ORA. Three groups were defined according to CCT: 1) thin cornea (CCT<520 mu m); 2) normal-thickness cornea (CCT: 520-580 mu m); and 3), thick cornea (CCT>580 mu m) groups. RESULTS: In normal subjects, IOP measurements were 14.95 2.99mmHg with ORA (IOPg), 15.21+/- 2.77mmHg with ORA(IOPcc),1522+/- 2.77mmHg with GAT,and 15.49+/- 2.56mmHg with DCT. Mean differences were 0.01+/- 2.29mmHg between IOPcc and GAT (P >0.05) and 0.28+/- 2.20mmHg between IOPcc and DC (P >0.05). There was a greater correlation between IOPcc and DCT (r =0.946, P =0.000) than that between IOPcc and GAT (r=0.845, P=0.000). DCT had a significant correlation with GAT (r=0.854, P=0.000). GAT was moderately correlated with CCT (r=0.296, P<0.001), while IOPcc showed a weak but significant correlation with CCT (r =0.155, P =0.007). There was a strong negative correlation between CCT and the difference between IOPcc and GAT (r=-0.803, P=0.000), with every 10 m increase in CCT resulting in an increase in this difference of 0.35mmHg. The thick cornea group (CCT>580 mu m) showed the least significant correlation between IOPcc and GAT (r=0.859, 0.000); while the thin cornea group (CCT< 520 mu m) had the most significant correlation between IOPcc and GAT (r= 0.926, P =0.000). Thereby investigate the possib...AIM: To evaluate the repeatability of central corneal thickness (CCT) measurement by entacam, and agreement of CCT measured by Pentacam and ultrasound pachymetry (USP) in Chinese myopia. Thereby investigate the possibility of Pentacam as a substitute for USP in CCT measurement before refractive surgery. The effects of corneal curvature measured by Pentacam on CCT were also evaluated. METHODS: One hundred and forty-eight right eyes of 148 individual with myopia were included in this study. Three successive Pentacam CCT measurements followed by 10 successive ultrasound pachymetry were carried out in the 148 eyes. Mean of CCT taken by each device was calculated for comparison. According to the CCT measured by USP, all the 148 eyes were divided into 3 groups: <520 mu m, 520-560 mu m, >560 mu m. For all eyes and each group the CCT obtained by Pentacam and USP were compared. Anterior corneal curvature of the 148 eyes was also adopted for correlation analysis with CCT obtained by ultrasound pachymetry. In addition, CCT measurement using 60 random selected Scheimpflug images was performed by 3 skilled investigators at different time, and this was repeated for 3 times by a forth investigator to assess repeatability of Pentacam CCT measurement using Scheimpflug images. RESULTS: Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) analysis revealed high intraobserver repeatability (ICC=0.994, F=158.60, P<0.001) for CCT measurement by Pentacam. The interobserver (ICC=0.998, F =494.73, P <0.001) and intraobserver (ICC=0.997, F=383.98, P<0.001) repeatability for Pentacam CCT measurements using Scheimpflug images were also excellent. There was high positive correlation between the CCT values measured by Pentacam and ultrasound pachymetry (r=0.963, P<0.001). Bland-altman plots showed that the Pentacam underestimate the CCT by 8.02 mu m compared with ultrasouond pachymetry.The differences between Pentacam and USP increased as the CCT readings by USP increased (Pentacam vs USP: slope=-0.04, P< 0.05). METHODS: Ophthalmic, cardiovascular and systemi...AIM: To report a novel mutation in FBN1 gene in a Chinese consanguineous family with common Marfan syndrome(MFS) phenotype and an unusual bilateral macular degeneration. METHODS: Ophthalmic, cardiovascular and systemic examinations were performed, and genomic DNA extracted from all living family members. The 24-32 exon mutations of FBN1 gene were screened by Sanger Sequencing in all family members and 100 unrelated healthy Chinese individuals. RESULTS: In the four-generation family, classic MFS phenotypes were observed in all 5 patients, 2 of them had peculiar phenotype of bilateral macular degeneration. Mutation screening in FBN1 identified a heterozygous missense mutation(c.3932 A>G, p.Y1311 C) with co-segregation. This mutation was found with the MFS phenotypes in all 5 patients but not in unaffected members or unrelated controls. CONCLUSION: A Chinese consanguineous MFS family with uncommon bilateral macular degeneration and an unreported c.3932 A>G mutation in FBN1 was identified. Our finding expands the FBN1 mutation spectrum and its possible role in the pathogenesis of Marfan syndrome.展开更多
Resonance cavity is a basic element in optics,which has wide applications in optical devices.Coupled cavities(CCs)designed in metal-insulator-metal(MIM)bus waveguide are investigated through the finite difference time...Resonance cavity is a basic element in optics,which has wide applications in optical devices.Coupled cavities(CCs)designed in metal-insulator-metal(MIM)bus waveguide are investigated through the finite difference time domain method and coupled-mode theory.In the CCs,the resonant modes of the surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs)split with the thickness decreasing of the middle baffle.Through the coupled-mode theory analysis,it is found that the phase differences introduced in opposite and positive couplings between two cavities lead to mode splitting.The resonant wavelength of positive coupling mode can be tuned in a large range(about 644 nm)through adjusting the coupling strength,which is quite different from the classical adjustment of the optical path in a single cavity.Based on the resonances of the CCs in the MIM waveguide,more compact devices can be designed to manipulate SPPs propagation.A device is designed to realize flexible multiple-wavelength SPPs routing.The coupling in CC structures can be applied to the design of easy-integrated laser cavities,filters,multiple-wavelength management devices in SPPs circuits,nanosensors,etc.展开更多
The arachidonic acid(AA)metabolic pathway participates in various physiological processes as well as in the development of malignancies.We analyzed genomic alterations in AA metabolic enzymes in the Cancer Genome Atla...The arachidonic acid(AA)metabolic pathway participates in various physiological processes as well as in the development of malignancies.We analyzed genomic alterations in AA metabolic enzymes in the Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)prostate cancer(PCa)dataset and found that the gene encoding soluble epoxide hydrolase(EPHX2)is frequently deleted in PCa.EPHX2 mRNA and protein expression in PCa was examined in multiple datasets by differential gene expression analysis and in a tissue microarray by immunohistochemistry.The expression data were analyzed in conjunction with clinicopathological variables.Both the mRNA and protein expression levels of EPHX2 were significantly decreased in tumors compared with normal prostate tissues and were inversely correlated with the Gleason grade and disease-free survival time.Furthermore,EPHX2 mRNA expression was significantly decreased in metastatic and recurrent PCa compared with localized and primary PCa,respectively.In addition,EPHX2 protein expression correlated negatively with Ki67 expression.In conclusion,EPHX2 deregulation is significantly correlated with the clinical characteristics of PCa progression and may serve as a prognostic marker for PCa.展开更多

However the manually set filtering operation could not well describe a good model to transform noisy images to clean images. In this paper, we introduce convolutional neural network (CNN) for the 3D filtering step to learn a well fitted model for denoising. With a trainable model, prior knowledge is utilized for better mapping from noisy images to clean images. This block matching and CNN joint model (BMCNN) could denoise images with different sizes and different noise intensity well, especially images with high noise levels. The experimental results demonstrate that among all competing methods, this method achieves the highest peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) when denoising images with high noise levels (σ 〉 40), and the best visual quality when denoising images with all the tested noise levels.展开更多
Asynchronous responses of mechanical and magnetic properties to structure relaxation for the Fe71Nb6B23 bulk metallic glass were systematically investigated. It is interesting that this ternary alloy can combinedly ex...Asynchronous responses of mechanical and magnetic properties to structure relaxation for the Fe71Nb6B23 bulk metallic glass were systematically investigated. It is interesting that this ternary alloy can combinedly exhibit outstanding magnetic and mechanical properties, especially good ductility, after optimally annealing in structure relaxation stage for eliminating the internal stress and homogenizing the microstructure. The alloy exhibits low coercive force of 1.6 A/m, high effective permeability of 15 x 10^3, high fracture strength of 4.2 GPa and good plastic strAln of 1.8%. It is also found that responses of mechanical and magnetic properties to structure relaxation are asynchronous. The glass transition and crystallization will greatly deteriorate the magnetic and mechanical properties. Here we propose a physical picture and demonstrate that the primary structure factors determining magnetic and mechanical properties are different. This work will bring a promising material for application and a new perspective to study the effect of annealing-induced structure relaxation on mechanical and magnetic properties.展开更多
