The self-similar nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by the shooting: method. It is found that the dual solutions of the flow exist for cer- tain values of tile velocity ratio parameter. The special case of the first branch solutions (the classical Newtonian fluid model) is compared with the present numerical results of stretching flow. The results are found to be in good agreement. It is also shown that the boundary layer thickness for the second solution is thicker than that for the first solution.展开更多

It is assumed that the fluid is electrically conducting and a uniform magnetic field is perpendicular to flow. The Sisko fluid is grease thick non-Newtonian fluid can be considered equivalent to blood. Taking long wavelength and low Reynolds number, the equations are reduced. The analytical solution of the emerging non-linear differential equation is obtained by employing Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM). The outcomes for dimensionless flow rate and dimensionless pressure rise have been computed numerically with respect to sundry concerning parameters amplitude ratio , Hartmann number M, and Sisko fluid parameter bl. The behaviors for pressure rise and average friction have been discussed in details and displayed graphically. Numerical and graphical comparison of Newtonian and non-Newtonian has also been evaluated for velocity and pressure rise. It is observed that the magnitude of pressure rise is maximum in the middle of the channel whereas for higher values of fluid parameter it increases. Further, it is also found that the velocity profile shows converse behavior along the walls of the channel against multiple values of fluid parameter.展开更多

The purpose of the present investigation is to study the effects of induced magnetic field on the peristaltic flow of non-Newtonian fluid. The two-dimensional equations of a Johnson-Segalman fluid are simplified by assuming a long wavelength and a low Reynolds number. The obtained equations are solved for the stream function, magnetic force function, and axial pressure gradient by using a regular perturbation method. The expressions for the pressure rise, temperature, induced magnetic field, pressure gradient, and stream function are sketched and interpreted for various embedded parameters.展开更多

The governing physical problem is modelled and transformed into a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations by suitable similarity transformation, which are solved numerically with the help of shooting method keeping the convergence control of 10^(-5) in computations. Influence of pertinent physical parameters on normal, tangential velocity profiles and temperature are expressed through graphs. Physical quantities of interest such as skin friction coefficients and local heat flux are investigated numerically.展开更多

The problem is modeled in a cylindrical coordinate system. The main theme of the present analysis is to study the endoscopic effects on the peristaltic flow of the Waiter's B fluid. To the best of the authors' knowledge, no investigation has been made so far in the literatures to study the Walter's B fluid in an endoscope. Analytical solutions axe obtained using the regular perturbation method by taking 5 as a perturbation parameter. The approximate analytical solutions for the pressure rise and friction forces are evaluated using numerical integration. The effects of emerging parameters of the Waiter's B fluid are presented graphically.展开更多
