Objective:To determine the ovicidal and repellent activities of methanol leaf extract of Ervatamia coronaria(E.coronaria) and Caeslpinia pulckerrima(C.pulcherrima) against Culex quinquefasciatus(Cx.quinquefasciatus),A...Objective:To determine the ovicidal and repellent activities of methanol leaf extract of Ervatamia coronaria(E.coronaria) and Caeslpinia pulckerrima(C.pulcherrima) against Culex quinquefasciatus(Cx.quinquefasciatus),Aedes aegypti(Ae.aegypti) and Anopheles stephensi(An. stephensi).Methods:The ovicidal activity was determined against three mosquito species at various concentrations ranging from 50-450 ppm under the laboratory conditions.The hatch rates were assessed 48 h after treatment.The repellent efficacy was determined against three mosquito species at three concentrations viz.,1.0,2.5 and 5.0 mg/cm under the laboratory conditions. Results:The crude extract of E.coronaria exerted zero hatchability(100%mortality) at 250.200 and 150 ppm for Cx.quinqitefasciatus,Ae.aegypti and An.stephensi,respectively.The crude extract of C.pulchenima exerted zero hatchability(100%mortality) at 375.300 and 225 ppm for Cx.quinquefasciatus,Ae.aegypti and An.Stephensi,respectively.The methanol extract of E. coronaria found to be more repellenct than C.pukherrima extract.A higher concentration of 5.0 mg/cm^2 provided 100%protection up to 150.180 and 210 min against Cx.quinquefasciatus,Ae. aegypti and An.stephensi,respectively.The results clearly showed that repellent activity was dose dependent.Conclusions:From the results it can be concluded the crude extracts of E.coronaria and C.pukherrima are an excellent potential for controlling Cx.quinquefasciatus,Ae.aegypti and An.stephensi mosquitoes.展开更多
Corrosion caused by sulfate-reducing prokaryotes(SRP)is an important cause of magnesium alloy anode failure in oil pipeline.In this study,the effects of Desulfovibrio sp.HQM3 on the corrosion behavior of AZ31B magnesi...Corrosion caused by sulfate-reducing prokaryotes(SRP)is an important cause of magnesium alloy anode failure in oil pipeline.In this study,the effects of Desulfovibrio sp.HQM3 on the corrosion behavior of AZ31B magnesium alloy anode in organic carbon sources with different contents in simulated tidal flat environment were analyzed using weight loss test,surface analysis and electrochemical analysis technologies.The results showed that the weight loss rate of coupons in low carbon sources contents(0%,1%,10%)was higher than that in 100%carbon sources.Electrochemical analyses showed that the corrosion current density(J_(corr))under low carbon sources contents was larger,while the charge transfer resistance(R_(ct))was lower,leading to a higher corrosion rate compared to those under 100%carbon sources content.Observations from scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM)revealed more severe pitting corrosion on the alloy surface in the absence of carbon sources.In addition,a large number of nanowires were observed between bacteria on the alloy surface using SEM.Combined with thermodynamic calculations,it was demonstrated that the corrosion of coupons by Desulfovibrio sp.HQM3 in the absence of carbon sources was achieved through extracellular electron transfer.展开更多

These defects occur due to the formed salt deposits, chemical reaction happens between the inner surface and the transferring substance, prevailing environmental conditions, etc. These defects, if not identified earlier may lead to significant losses to the industry. In this work, an in-line inspection system utilizes the nondestructive way for analyzing the internal defects in the petrochemical pipeline. This system consists of a pipeline inspection robot having two major units namely the visual inspection unit and the power carrier unit. The visual inspection unit makes use of a ring-type laser diode and the camera. The laser diode serves as a light source for capturing good quality images of inspection. This unit is controlled by the Arduino in the power carrier unit which provides the necessary movement throughout the pipe. The inspected images captured by the camera are further processed with the aid of NI vision assistant software. After applying the processing function parameters provided by this software, the defect location can be clearly visualized with high precision. Three sets of defects are introduced in a Polylactide (PLA) pipe based on its position and angle along the circumference of the pipe. Further, this robot system serves as a real-time interactive image synchronization system for acquiring the inspected images. By comparing the actual and calculated defect size, the error percentage obtained was less than 5%.展开更多

The protocol designs of MANETs are based on a traditional approach which has been found ineffective to deal congestion related problems. Hence, it is affecting properties of physical layer, the network layer and transport layer. This paper proposes a novel design approach, deviating from the traditional network design, towards enhancing the cross-layer interaction among different layers, namely physical, MAC and network. The novel approach for congestion control is to solve congestion and mobility related problems with a cross layer interaction. The significance of CLCC is that it has used two mechanisms: (i) Dynamic Transmission Power Control algorithm that predicts a link breakage if it is likely to happen, (ii) Dynamic Congestion Estimation Technique, which analyzes traffic fluctuation and categorize congestion status perfectly. The proposed protocol reduces the route breakage and network congestion, hence reduces the control overhead and latency, and increases the packet delivery ratio. Through simulation, it is shown that the proposed protocol is simple, robust and effective.展开更多

It was observed that the use of the DP-GMAW process improves the aforementioned characteristics in comparison to that of the P-GMAW process. The enhanced quality of weld joints obtained with DP-GMAW process is primarily due to the combined effect of pulsed current and thermal pulsation(low frequency pulse). During the thermal pulsation period, there is a fluctuation of wire feed rate,which results in the further increase in welding current and the decrease in arc voltage. Because of this synchronization between welding current and arc voltage during the period of low frequency pulse, the DP-GMAW deposit introduces comparatively more thermal shock compared to the P-GMAW deposit, thereby reducing the heat input and improves the properties of weld joints.展开更多
Aim:Neuroblastoma is a pediatric cancer of the sympathetic nervous system.Using various parameters including stage of the disease,amplification status of N-Myc,DNA index and histopathology,neuroblastoma can be stratif...Aim:Neuroblastoma is a pediatric cancer of the sympathetic nervous system.Using various parameters including stage of the disease,amplification status of N-Myc,DNA index and histopathology,neuroblastoma can be stratified into low-and high-risk groups.Recent advances in treatment have significantly improved the survival rate of lowrisk neuroblastoma patients.However,the overall survival rate of high-risk neuroblastoma group,especially N-Myc amplified patients,is poor.Moreover,the survivors of both low-and high-risk neuroblastoma manifest adverse side effects to chemotherapy and thus their quality of life is impaired.Considering all these factors,there is an urgent need to develop therapeutic strategies with natural compounds to improve the survival rate and to reduce the side effects.In this study,we hypothesised that the mesenchymal nature of neuroblastoma cells is a reason,at least in part,for the aggressive and treatment resistant phenotype.Method:In order to validate our hypothesis,we used publicaly available RNA-Seq data,in vitro assays and xenograft mouse models.Results:Using a combinatorial treatment of mesenchymal-to-epithelial inducers(curcumin or silibinin)with doxorubicin significantly increased the cell death in a panel of neuroblastoma cells in vitro.Follow up analysis in vivo,confirmed the therapeutic benefit of utilising the combination of curcumin with doxorubicin.The combinatorial therapy significantly reduced the tumor burden and increased the survival of mice implanted with high-risk neuroblastoma cells.Conclusion:Taken together,this study shows the efficacy of using curcumin in combination with doxorubicin to improve the survival rate and has the potential to enhance the quality of life of neuroblastoma patients.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate the antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Indian medicinal plant,Caesalpinia bonducel...Objective:To evaluate the antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Indian medicinal plant,Caesalpinia bonducella(C.bonducella)at different concentrations against Lepidopteran agricultural field pest Helicoverpa armigera(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae).Methods:Antifeedant activities of the selected plant extract were studied using leaf disc no-choice method and oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities were also assessed by adapting the standard protocols.Results:The antifeedant activity of C.bonducella showed significant antifeedant activity in methanol extract.Oviposition deterrency is higher in methanol extract than the other solvent extracts.Similarly,maximum egg mortality was observed in methanol leaf extract of C.bonducella Lethal concentration,LC_(50)value of benzene,diethylether,dichloromethane,ethyl acetate and methanol extract of C.bonducella were 470.02,469.00,465.47,460.52 and 443.87 mg/L respectively.The Chi-square values are significant at P<0.05 level.Among five solventextracts,the methanol extract was responsible for strong lethal activity observed against selected pest species.Conclusions:Results of this study show that the selected Indian medicinal plant C.bonducella could be a potent source of natural antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal agent against the field pest Helicoverpa armigera.展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the pesticidal activity of antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethylacetate and methanol extracts of Rivina humilis at dif...Objective:To evaluate the pesticidal activity of antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethylacetate and methanol extracts of Rivina humilis at different concentrations against agricultural polyphagous pest Spodoptera litura(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)(S.litura).Methods:Antifeedant activities of the selected plant extract were studied as described by Isman et al.(1990),with slight modifications.For oviposition deterrent activity,ten pairs of(adult moths)S.litura were subjected in five replicates.After 48 h,the numbers of eggs masses laid on treated and control leaves were recorded and the percentage of oviposition deterrence was calculated.The ovicidal activity was determined against the eggs of S.litura.Twenty five early fourth instar larvae of S.litura were exposed to various concentrations and was assayed by using the protocol of Abbott’s formula(1925);the 24 h LC_(50)values of the Rivina humilis leaf extract was determined by probit analysis.Results:All the extracts showed moderate antifeedant activitiy;however,significant antifeedant,ovicidal,oviposition deterrent and larvicidal activities were observed in methanol extract.Conclusions:This study showed that the selected plant can be a potent source of natural antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities against field pest S.litura.展开更多
Background:Diabetes is a widespread disease with increasing prevalence.Transplantation of islets of Langerhans is a viable treatment for a selected group of patients with repeated hypoglycemic episodes in type 1 diabe...Background:Diabetes is a widespread disease with increasing prevalence.Transplantation of islets of Langerhans is a viable treatment for a selected group of patients with repeated hypoglycemic episodes in type 1 diabetes.The countries where islet transplantation has not been explored suffer from insufficient knowledge concerning key elements of the isolation process.Donor and organ procurement parameters impact human islet yield,although for research purposes,islet yield may be secondary in importance to islet function.This paper will analyze the feasibility of research-only human islet isolation and signify parameters underlying a successful yield in the Indian population.This eventually can make islet transplantation a clinical reality in India.Method:After receiving the consent for procuring brain-dead pancreas from the first-degree of relatives,samples were collected and transported in a transportation buffer at 4℃.The procedure consists of a mechanically enhanced enzymatic digestion of the pancreas,after which it was taken for purification using Ficoll method,followed by islet quality testing.Results:Through 15 isolations done over a span of approximately 2 years during the COVID pandemic in India,we confirm that ischemic time and glycated hemoglobin,each have a negative impact on isolation purity and yield.Notably,extending cold ischemic tim beyond the typical clinical isolation cutoff of 12 hours(to≥18 h)had a huge impact on islet function and yield.Age had a negative correlation with islet yield;however other biological parameters(specifically body mass index)and isolation variables appear to make a significant contribution to the heterogeneity of human islet yield.Our current work demonstrates the feasibility of extending acceptable cold ischemic time for research-focused human islet isolation and highlights the biological variation in isolation of human islets from donors with and without diabetes.Conclusion:India requires establishment of an islet transplant program using the current standard metho展开更多

Two different types of laminates were fabricated by hand lay-up t...This work presents the delamination resistance of woven glass fibre reinforced polymers (GFRP) and its influence on GFRP’s resistance to point impact. Two different types of laminates were fabricated by hand lay-up technique;(i) woven glass fibre epoxy matrix laminates and (ii) woven glass fibre epoxy matrix laminates with 3% graphite particulate fillers. End Notch Flexure (ENF) test was adopted for the measurement of delamination resistance. The two GFRPs laminates show similar mode II delamination resistance. At impact velocities between 2.215 and 4.429 m/sec, the GFRP developed a smaller damage size than the graphite-based GFRP laminates, indicating higher impact toughness. Difference of the impact resistance between the two GFRPs is mainly on the impact damage size developed. The total energy absorbed during the impact remains the same, which is independent of mode II delamination resistance of the GFRP. The history of relevant dynamic and energetic quantities, both to synthesize the dependency of the energy parameters and force threshold values on the impact velocity are discussed.展开更多

The visual inspection unit makes use of a ring-type laser diode and the camera. The laser diode serves as a light source for capturing good quality images of inspection. This unit is controlled by the Arduino in the power carrier unit which provides the necessary movement throughout the pipe. The inspected images captured by the camera are further processed with the aid of NI vision assistant software. After applying the processing function parameters provided by this software, the defect location can be clearly visualized with high precision. Three sets of defects are introduced in a Polylactide (PLA) pipe based on its position and angle along the circumference of the pipe. Further, this robot system serves as a real-time interactive image synchronization system for acquiring the inspected images. By comparing the actual and calculated defect size, the error percentage obtained was less than 5%.
文摘In Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), the mobile nodes are communicating trough wireless medium. The protocol designs of MANETs are based on a traditional approach which has been found ineffective to deal congestion related problems. Hence, it is affecting properties of physical layer, the network layer and transport layer. This paper proposes a novel design approach, deviating from the traditional network design, towards enhancing the cross-layer interaction among different layers, namely physical, MAC and network. The novel approach for congestion control is to solve congestion and mobility related problems with a cross layer interaction. The significance of CLCC is that it has used two mechanisms: (i) Dynamic Transmission Power Control algorithm that predicts a link breakage if it is likely to happen, (ii) Dynamic Congestion Estimation Technique, which analyzes traffic fluctuation and categorize congestion status perfectly. The proposed protocol reduces the route breakage and network congestion, hence reduces the control overhead and latency, and increases the packet delivery ratio. Through simulation, it is shown that the proposed protocol is simple, robust and effective.
文摘The periodic outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue fever,zika fever,and yellow fever all over the world highlights the need for effective mosquito control methods targeting the biological system.Due to the lack of therapeutic measures,preventive treatments or vaccines against pathogens,insecticide resistance eventually lead the research focus towards novel technological applications in mosquito management.Nanomaterials with ovicidal,larvicidal,adulticidal,and repellent properties for controlling mosquito vectors are under research.A literature search was carried out for advancements in nanomaterials,insecticides,and mosquito control in PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,Google Scholar,ScienceDirect,and Web of Science.This paper aims to provide insights into various nanomaterials relevant to mosquito-borne diseases,in vivo and in vitro toxicity evaluation against mosquito species,mode of action,effect on non-target organisms,and ecological risks.Organic and inorganic materials that provide controlled release,target delivery,less dosage,prolonged efficacy,a reduction in the use of organic solvents and emulsifiers,and minimum pollution to the environment have already been explored.Indeed,further research on the ecological risk and economic feasibility of nanomaterials in mosquitocidal applications should be done prior to commercialization.
文摘The transverse shrinkage, mechanical and metallurgical properties of AISI: 310 S ASS weld joints prepared by P-GMAW and DP-GMAW processes were investigated. It was observed that the use of the DP-GMAW process improves the aforementioned characteristics in comparison to that of the P-GMAW process. The enhanced quality of weld joints obtained with DP-GMAW process is primarily due to the combined effect of pulsed current and thermal pulsation(low frequency pulse). During the thermal pulsation period, there is a fluctuation of wire feed rate,which results in the further increase in welding current and the decrease in arc voltage. Because of this synchronization between welding current and arc voltage during the period of low frequency pulse, the DP-GMAW deposit introduces comparatively more thermal shock compared to the P-GMAW deposit, thereby reducing the heat input and improves the properties of weld joints.

文摘Aim:Neuroblastoma is a pediatric cancer of the sympathetic nervous system.Using various parameters including stage of the disease,amplification status of N-Myc,DNA index and histopathology,neuroblastoma can be stratified into low-and high-risk groups.Recent advances in treatment have significantly improved the survival rate of lowrisk neuroblastoma patients.However,the overall survival rate of high-risk neuroblastoma group,especially N-Myc amplified patients,is poor.Moreover,the survivors of both low-and high-risk neuroblastoma manifest adverse side effects to chemotherapy and thus their quality of life is impaired.Considering all these factors,there is an urgent need to develop therapeutic strategies with natural compounds to improve the survival rate and to reduce the side effects.In this study,we hypothesised that the mesenchymal nature of neuroblastoma cells is a reason,at least in part,for the aggressive and treatment resistant phenotype.Method:In order to validate our hypothesis,we used publicaly available RNA-Seq data,in vitro assays and xenograft mouse models.Results:Using a combinatorial treatment of mesenchymal-to-epithelial inducers(curcumin or silibinin)with doxorubicin significantly increased the cell death in a panel of neuroblastoma cells in vitro.Follow up analysis in vivo,confirmed the therapeutic benefit of utilising the combination of curcumin with doxorubicin.The combinatorial therapy significantly reduced the tumor burden and increased the survival of mice implanted with high-risk neuroblastoma cells.Conclusion:Taken together,this study shows the efficacy of using curcumin in combination with doxorubicin to improve the survival rate and has the potential to enhance the quality of life of neuroblastoma patients.

文摘Objective:To evaluate the antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Indian medicinal plant,Caesalpinia bonducella(C.bonducella)at different concentrations against Lepidopteran agricultural field pest Helicoverpa armigera(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae).Methods:Antifeedant activities of the selected plant extract were studied using leaf disc no-choice method and oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities were also assessed by adapting the standard protocols.Results:The antifeedant activity of C.bonducella showed significant antifeedant activity in methanol extract.Oviposition deterrency is higher in methanol extract than the other solvent extracts.Similarly,maximum egg mortality was observed in methanol leaf extract of C.bonducella Lethal concentration,LC_(50)value of benzene,diethylether,dichloromethane,ethyl acetate and methanol extract of C.bonducella were 470.02,469.00,465.47,460.52 and 443.87 mg/L respectively.The Chi-square values are significant at P<0.05 level.Among five solventextracts,the methanol extract was responsible for strong lethal activity observed against selected pest species.Conclusions:Results of this study show that the selected Indian medicinal plant C.bonducella could be a potent source of natural antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal agent against the field pest Helicoverpa armigera.

文摘Objective:To assess the multitudinal antimicrobial effects of recombinant lysozyme fromFenneropenaeus indicus(rFi-Lyz)in comparison with commercially available recombinant hen egg white lysozyme(rHEWL).Methods:Antimicrobial activity of the recombinant rFi-Lyz using several Gram positive,Gram negative bacteria and fungi in comparison with rHEWL has been evaluated.rFi-Lyz was expressed and purified using Ni2+affinity chromatography.The effect of rFi-Lyz in the growth of yeast Candida krusei,plant molds Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium solani was assessed by well diffusion assay in petri plates with potato dextrose agar.Results:rFi-Lyz exhibited high inhibitory activity on Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis.Among various Gram negative bacteria testedKlebsiella pneumoniae exhibited the highest inhibition followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Shigella dysenteriae.rFi-Lyz also exhibited significant inhibition on two marine pathogens Aeromonas veronii and Vibrio alginolyticus.Among the various fungal strains tested,rFi-Lyz inhibited the growth of budding yeast Candida krusei significantly.Further the growth of two other plants fungus Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum were retarded by rFi-Lyz in the plate inhibition assay.Conclusions:rFi-Lyz exhibits a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity like a natural antibiotic on various pathogenic bacteria and fungal strains.
文摘Purpose-Artificial Intelligence(AI)has surpassed expectations in opening up different possibilities for machines from different walks of life.Cloud service providers are pushing.Edge computing reduces latency,improving availability and saving bandwidth.Design/methodology/approach-The exponential growth in tensor processing unit(TPU)and graphics processing unit(GPU)combined with different types of sensors has enabled the pairing of medical technology with deep learning in providing the best patient care.A significant role of pushing and pulling data from the cloud,big data comes into play as velocity,veracity and volume of data with IoT assisting doctors in predicting the abnormalities and providing customized treatment based on the patient electronic health record(EHR).Findings-The primary focus of edge computing is decentralizing and bringing intelligent IoT devices to provide real-time computing at the point of presence(PoP).The impact of the PoP in healthcare gains importance as wearable devices and mobile apps are entrusted with real-time monitoring and diagnosis of patients.The impact edge computing of the PoP in healthcare gains significance as wearable devices and mobile apps are entrusted with real-time monitoring and diagnosis of patients.Originality/value-The utility value of sensors data improves through the Laplacian mechanism of preserved PII response to each query from the ODL.The scalability is at 50%with respect to the sensitivity and preservation of the PII values in the local ODL.

文摘Objective:To evaluate the pesticidal activity of antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethylacetate and methanol extracts of Rivina humilis at different concentrations against agricultural polyphagous pest Spodoptera litura(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)(S.litura).Methods:Antifeedant activities of the selected plant extract were studied as described by Isman et al.(1990),with slight modifications.For oviposition deterrent activity,ten pairs of(adult moths)S.litura were subjected in five replicates.After 48 h,the numbers of eggs masses laid on treated and control leaves were recorded and the percentage of oviposition deterrence was calculated.The ovicidal activity was determined against the eggs of S.litura.Twenty five early fourth instar larvae of S.litura were exposed to various concentrations and was assayed by using the protocol of Abbott’s formula(1925);the 24 h LC_(50)values of the Rivina humilis leaf extract was determined by probit analysis.Results:All the extracts showed moderate antifeedant activitiy;however,significant antifeedant,ovicidal,oviposition deterrent and larvicidal activities were observed in methanol extract.Conclusions:This study showed that the selected plant can be a potent source of natural antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities against field pest S.litura.
文摘Background:Diabetes is a widespread disease with increasing prevalence.Transplantation of islets of Langerhans is a viable treatment for a selected group of patients with repeated hypoglycemic episodes in type 1 diabetes.The countries where islet transplantation has not been explored suffer from insufficient knowledge concerning key elements of the isolation process.Donor and organ procurement parameters impact human islet yield,although for research purposes,islet yield may be secondary in importance to islet function.This paper will analyze the feasibility of research-only human islet isolation and signify parameters underlying a successful yield in the Indian population.This eventually can make islet transplantation a clinical reality in India.Method:After receiving the consent for procuring brain-dead pancreas from the first-degree of relatives,samples were collected and transported in a transportation buffer at 4℃.The procedure consists of a mechanically enhanced enzymatic digestion of the pancreas,after which it was taken for purification using Ficoll method,followed by islet quality testing.Results:Through 15 isolations done over a span of approximately 2 years during the COVID pandemic in India,we confirm that ischemic time and glycated hemoglobin,each have a negative impact on isolation purity and yield.Notably,extending cold ischemic tim beyond the typical clinical isolation cutoff of 12 hours(to≥18 h)had a huge impact on islet function and yield.Age had a negative correlation with islet yield;however other biological parameters(specifically body mass index)and isolation variables appear to make a significant contribution to the heterogeneity of human islet yield.Our current work demonstrates the feasibility of extending acceptable cold ischemic time for research-focused human islet isolation and highlights the biological variation in isolation of human islets from donors with and without diabetes.Conclusion:India requires establishment of an islet transplant program using the current standard metho
文摘Design of an Ethernet network compatible data acquisition system for the measurement of yaw rate and longitudinal velocity in automobiles is presented.The data acquisition system includes a base node and a remote node.The remote node consists of a micro electro mechanical system(MEMS)accelerometer,an MEMS gyroscope,an advanced RISC machines(ARM)CORTEX M3 microcontroller and an Ethernet PHY device.The remote node measures the yaw rate and the longitudinal velocity of an automobile and sends the measured values to the base node using Ethernet communication.The base node consists of an ARM CORTEX M3 microcontroller and an Ethernet PHY device.The base node receives the measured values and saves in a microSD card for further analysis.The characteris tics of the net work and the measurement system are stu died and repor ted.
文摘This work presents the delamination resistance of woven glass fibre reinforced polymers (GFRP) and its influence on GFRP’s resistance to point impact. Two different types of laminates were fabricated by hand lay-up technique;(i) woven glass fibre epoxy matrix laminates and (ii) woven glass fibre epoxy matrix laminates with 3% graphite particulate fillers. End Notch Flexure (ENF) test was adopted for the measurement of delamination resistance. The two GFRPs laminates show similar mode II delamination resistance. At impact velocities between 2.215 and 4.429 m/sec, the GFRP developed a smaller damage size than the graphite-based GFRP laminates, indicating higher impact toughness. Difference of the impact resistance between the two GFRPs is mainly on the impact damage size developed. The total energy absorbed during the impact remains the same, which is independent of mode II delamination resistance of the GFRP. The history of relevant dynamic and energetic quantities, both to synthesize the dependency of the energy parameters and force threshold values on the impact velocity are discussed.
