The application of hybrid vehicle is a practical technical solution to the energy shortage and the environmental pollution.The internal combustion engine(ICE)plays a key role in the development of the hybrid vehicle.B...The application of hybrid vehicle is a practical technical solution to the energy shortage and the environmental pollution.The internal combustion engine(ICE)plays a key role in the development of the hybrid vehicle.Based on the requirements of the hybrid vehicle and the characteristic of Atkinson cycle,a set of designing methods for the Atkinson cycle gasoline engine is presented through the analysis of the optimized matching for the compression ratio,valve timing and the combustion chamber.The designing method has been verified by the bench test and the results show that the fuel consumption can be improved by12%–15%with the reduction of the low speed torque by 10%,and the low fuel consumption region in the fuel map extends significantly with the rated power almost keeping constant.It may be of great reference for the development of hybrid vehicle technology in China.展开更多
In the underwater medium,the speed of sound varies with water depth,temperature,and salinity.The inhomogeneity of water leads to bending of sound rays,making the existing localization algorithms based on straightline ...In the underwater medium,the speed of sound varies with water depth,temperature,and salinity.The inhomogeneity of water leads to bending of sound rays,making the existing localization algorithms based on straightline propagation less precise.To realize high-precision node positioning in underwater acoustic sensor networks(UASNs),a multi-layer isogradient sound speed profile(SSP)model is developed using the linear segmentation approximation approach.Then,the sound ray tracking problem is converted into a polynomial root-searching problem.Based on the derived gradient of the signal’s Doppler shift at the sensor node,a novel underwater node localization algorithm is proposed using both the time difference of arrival(TDOA)and frequency difference of arrival(FDOA).Simulations are implemented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.Compared with the traditional straight-line propagation method,the proposed algorithm can effectively handle the sound ray bending phenomenon.Estimation accuracy with different SSP modeling errors is also investigated.Overall,accurate and reliable node localization can be achieved.展开更多
This study assesses the accuracy and the applicability of the Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)and the nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS)equation solutions to derivation of dynamic parameters of internal solitary waves(ISWs)from satelli...This study assesses the accuracy and the applicability of the Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)and the nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS)equation solutions to derivation of dynamic parameters of internal solitary waves(ISWs)from satellite images.Visible band images taken by five satellite sensors with spatial resolutions from 5 m to 250 m near the Dongsha Atoll of the northern South China Sea(NSCS)are used as a baseline.From the baseline,the amplitudes of ISWs occurring from July 10 to 13,2017 are estimated by the two approaches and compared with concurrent mooring observations for assessments.Using the ratio of the dimensionless dispersive parameter to the square of dimensionless nonlinear parameter as a criterion,the best appliable ranges of the two approaches are clearly separated.The statistics of total 18 cases indicate that in each 50%of cases,the KdV and the NLS approaches give more accurate estimates of ISW amplitudes.It is found that the relative errors of ISW amplitudes derived from two theoretical approaches are closely associated with the logarithmic bottom slopes.This may be attributed to the nonlinear growth of ISW amplitudes as propagating along a shoaling thermocline or topography.The test results using three consecutive satellite images to retrieve the ISW propagation speeds indicate that the use of multiple satellite images(>2)may improve the accuracy of retrieved phase speeds.Meanwhile,repeated multi-satellite images of ISWs can help to determine the types of ISWs if mooring data are available nearby.展开更多
