Data regarding the correlations of thyroid dysfunction and the incidence of AF in HOCM are quite limited. This study aimed to reveal the correlations between different thyroid status and the corresponding incidence of AF in a large HOCM cohort.Methods::A total of 806 HOCM patients with complete information on thyroid function tests and comprehensive cardiac evaluations were recruited. The participants were divided into the AF group (n = 159) and non-AF group (n = 647) according to established medical history and results of Holter monitoring. The thyroid status of the study population and the corresponding incidence of AF were assessed and analyzed.Results::Hypothyroidism accounted for the greatest proportion of thyroid dysfunction in HOCM patients. The incidence of AF significantly increased in individuals with both overt ( P = 0.022) and subclinical ( P = 0.007) hypothyroidism. Compared with participants in the non-AF group, those with positive AF episodes presented with lower free triiodothyronine (FT3) (2.86 ± 0.52 pg/mL vs. 3.01 ± 0.42 pg/mL, P = 0.001), higher free thyroxine (FT4) (1.24 ± 0.25 ng/dL vs. 1.15 ± 0.16 ng/dL, P < 0.001), and remarkably increased levels of thyrotropin (TSH) (12.6% vs. 5.3%, P = 0.001). Multivariable analyses demonstrated that the concentrations of FT3 (odds ratio [OR] = 0.470, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.272-0.813, P = 0.007) and FT4 (OR = 17.992, 95% CI: 5.750-56.296, P < 0.001), as well as TSH levels above normal ranges (OR = 2.276, 95% CI: 1.113-4.652, P = 0.024) were independently associated with the occurrence of AF in the large HOCM cohort. Conclusions::This study indicated a strong link between low thyroid function and the presence of AF in HOCM. Hypothyroidism (both overt and subclinical states) seems to be valuable for assessing the incidence of AF in patients with HOCM.展开更多

Our aim was to establish a predictive model for aspirin resistance to identify high-risk patients and to propose appropriate intervention. Methods Elderly patients (n = 1130) with stable chronic coronary heart disease who were taking aspirin (75 mg) for 〉 2 months were included. Details of their basic characteristics, laboratory test results, and medications were collected. Logistic regression analysis was performed to establish a predictive model for aspirin resistance. Risk score was finally established according to coefficient B and type of variables in logistic regression. The Hosmer-Lemeshow (HL) test and receiver operating characteristic curves were performed to respectively test the calibration and discrimination of the model. Results Seven risk factors were included in our risk score. They were serum creatinine (〉 110 μmol/L, score of 1); fasting blood glucose (〉 7.0 mmol/L, score of 1); hyperlipidemia (score of 1); number of coronary arteries (2 branches, score of 2; 〉 3 branches, score of 4); body mass index (20-25 kg/m2, score of 2; 〉 25 kg/m2, score of 4); percutaneous coronary intervention (score of 2); and smoking (score of 3). The HL test showed P ≥ 0.05 and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve ≥ 0.70. Conclusions We explored and quantified the risk factors for aspirin resistance. Our predictive model showed good calibration and discriminative power and therefore a good foundation for the further study of patients undergoing anti-platelet therapy.展开更多

Materials and Methods: Network pharmacology, molecular docking, and animal experiments were used to reveal the potential mechanism of HRG against ALD. Results: A total of 245 potential targets of HRG against ALD were obtained. Functional enrichment analysis suggests that HRG could synergistically regulate various biological pathways to exert therapeutic effects on ALD. Molecular docking showed that the key targets exhibited the good binding ability with the key compounds. The in vivo experiments showed that HRG can effectively alleviate pathological changes in liver tissue, improve blood lipid levels, antioxidant stress ability, and liver function, and reduce the release of inflammatory cytokines in the liver. Conclusions: This study reflects that HRG is an effective strategy for treating ALD, providing a basis for revealing the prevention and treatment mechanisms of ALD.展开更多
