This st...Several studies have revealed that the preoperative serum testosterone and percent tumor volume (PTV) predict extra-prostatic extension (EPE) and biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy. This study investigated the prognostic significance of serum testosterone and PTV in relation to EPE and BCR after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP). We reviewed 520 patients who underwent LRP between 2004 and 2012. PTV was determined as the sum of all visually estimated tumor foci in every section. BCR was defined as two consecutive increases in the postoperative prostate-specific antigen (PSA) 〉0.2 ng ml^-1. The threshold for serum total testosterone was 3.0 ng ml^-1, Multivariate logistic regression was used to define the effect of variables on the risk of EPE and BCR. A low serum testosterone (〈3.0 ng ml^-1) was associated with a high serum PSA, Gleason score, positive core percentage of the prostate biopsy, PTV, and all pathological variables. On multivariate analysis, similar to previous studies, the serum PSA, biopsy positive core percentage, Gleason score, and pathological variables predicted EPE and BCR. In addition, low serum testosterone (〈3.0 ng ml^-1, adjusted OR, 8.52; 95% CI, 5.04-14.4, P = 0.001) predicted EPE and PTV (adjusted OR, 1.02; 95% CI, 1.01-1.05, P = 0.046) predicted BCR. In addition to previous predictors of EPE and BCR, low serum testosterone and PTV are valuable predictors of EPE and BCR after LRP.展开更多
The two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)generated at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface has been in the focus of oxides re-search since its first discovery.Although oxygen vacancies play an important role in the generation of ...The two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)generated at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface has been in the focus of oxides re-search since its first discovery.Although oxygen vacancies play an important role in the generation of the insulator-to-metal transition of the SrTiO3 bare surface,their contribution at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface remains unclear.In this work,we investigated a LaAlO3/SrTiO3 heterostructure with regional distribution of defect-based localized polar sites at the interface.Using static and time-resolved threshold photoemission electron microscopy,we prove that oxygen vacan-cies are induced near those polar sites,resulting in the increase of carrier density of the 2DEG states.In addition,oxy-gen-related surface states were uncovered,which we attributed to the release of lattice oxygen during the formation of oxygen vacancies.Such effects are mainly found spatially located around the defect sites at the buried interface,while other regions remain unaffected.Our results confirm that the itinerant electrons induced by oxygen vacancies can coex-ist with the charge transfer mechanism in the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 heterostructure,together leading to the formation of the metallic interface.These observations provide fundamental insights into the nature of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface based 2DEG and unique perspectives for potential applications.展开更多
BACKGROUND Ankylosing spondylitis(AS)is strongly associated with the human leukocyte antigen(HLA)B27 haplotype.In regions where conventional polymerase chain reaction for HLA typing is available for antigens such as H...BACKGROUND Ankylosing spondylitis(AS)is strongly associated with the human leukocyte antigen(HLA)B27 haplotype.In regions where conventional polymerase chain reaction for HLA typing is available for antigens such as HLA B27 or HLA B51,it is common to perform the HLA B27 test for evaluation of AS.While HLA B27-associated clustered occurrences of AS have been reported in families,we report the first case series of HLA B51-related occurrences of AS in a family.CASE SUMMARY A father and his daughters were diagnosed with AS and did not have the HLA B27 haplotype.Although they were positive for HLA B51,they exhibited no signs of Behçet’s disease(BD).Of the five daughters,one had AS,and three,including the daughter with AS,were positive for HLA B51.The two daughters with the HLA B51 haplotype(excluding the daughter with AS)exhibited bilateral grade 1 sacroiliitis,whereas the daughters without the HLA B51 haplotype did not have sacroiliitis.Thus,this Korean family exhibited a strong association with the HLA B51 haplotype and clinical sacroiliitis,irrespective of the symptoms of BD.CONCLUSION It is advisable to check for HLA B51 positivity in patients with AS/spondyloarthropathy who test negative for HLA B27.展开更多

AIM:To study the prognostic value of carbohydrateantigen 125(CA125) and whether it adds prognostic information to N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) in stable heart failure(HF) patients.METHODS:The pr...AIM:To study the prognostic value of carbohydrateantigen 125(CA125) and whether it adds prognostic information to N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) in stable heart failure(HF) patients.METHODS:The predictive value of CA125 was retrospectively assessed in 156 patients with stable HF remitted to the outpatient HF unit for monitoring from 2009 to 2011.Patients were included in the study if they had a previous documented episode of HF and received HF treatment.CA125 and NT-proBNP concentrations were measured.The independent association between NT-proBNP or CA125 and mortality was assessed with Cox regression analysis,and their combined predictive ability was tested by the integrated discrimination improvement(IDI) index.RESULTS:The mean age of the 156 patients was 72 ± 12 years.During follow-up(17 ± 8 mo),27 patients died,1 received an urgent heart transplantation and 106 required hospitalization for HF.Higher CA125 values were correlated with outcomes:58 ± 85 KU/L if hospitalized vs 34 ± 61 KU/L if not(P < 0.05),and 94 ± 121 KU/L in those who died or needed urgent heart transplantation vs 45 ± 78 KU/L in survivors(P < 0.01).After adjusting for propensity scores,the highest risk was observed when both biomarkers were elevated vs not elevated(HR = 8.95,95%CI:3.11-25.73; P < 0.001) and intermediate when only NT-proBNP was elevated vs not elevated(HR = 4.15,95%CI:1.41-12.24; P < 0.01).Moreover,when CA125 was added to the clinical model with NT-proBNP,a 4%(P < 0.05) improvement in the IDI was found.CONCLUSION:CA125 > 60 KU/L identified patients in stable HF with poor survival.Circulating CA125 level adds prognostic value to NT-proBNP level in predicting HF outcomes.展开更多
BACKGROUND Immunotherapy has revolutionized the clinical outcomes of intractable cancer patients.Little is known about the intestinal nonpathogenic bacterial composition of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients treate...BACKGROUND Immunotherapy has revolutionized the clinical outcomes of intractable cancer patients.Little is known about the intestinal nonpathogenic bacterial composition of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients treated by immunotherapy.AIM To determine whether there is a correlation between gut bacterial composition and prognosis in HCC patients.METHODS From September 2019 to March 2020,we prospectively collected fecal samples and examined the gut microbiome of 8 advanced HCC patients treated with nivolumab as a second-or third-line systemic treatment.Fecal samples were collected before the start of immunotherapy.Fecal samples of patients with progression during treatment were collected at the time of progression,and fecal samples of patients who showed good response to nivolumab were collected after 5-7 mo as follow-up.Metagenomic data from 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing were analyzed using CLC Genomics Workbench.Microbiome data were analyzed according to therapeutic response.RESULTS All 8 patients were male,of which 6 had underlying chronic hepatitis B.A higher Shannon index was found in the responders than in the non-responders after nivolumab therapy(P=0.036).The unweighted beta diversity analysis also showed that the overall bacterial community structure and phylogenetic diversity were clearly distinguished according to therapeutic response.There was no significant difference in the diversity or composition of the patient gut microbiome according to the immunotherapy used.Several taxa specific to therapeutic response were designated as follows:Dialister pneumosintes,Escherichia coli,Lactobacillus reteri,Streptococcus mutans,Enterococcus faecium,Streptococcus gordonii,Veillonella atypica,Granulicatella sp.,and Trchuris trichiura for the nonresponders;Citrobacter freundii,Azospirillum sp.and Enterococcus durans for the responders.Of note,a skewed Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio and a low Prevotella/Bacteroides ratio can serve as predictive markers of non-response,whereas the presence of Akkermansia species predic展开更多
Tumor-associated antigen 90K is implicated in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion through its interaction with galectin-3 and integrin-β 1 and is highly expressed in malignant tissues, making it a novel ...Tumor-associated antigen 90K is implicated in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion through its interaction with galectin-3 and integrin-β 1 and is highly expressed in malignant tissues, making it a novel target for the development of new immunotherapies. We investigated a potential immunotherapy treatment for colon cancer using 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes induced by autologous dendritic cells and pulsed with 90K peptides. We selected three peptides (90K3s1, 90K5 and 90K523) that bind to HLA-A*0201 molecules on the basis of their binding affinity, as determined by a peptide-T2 binding assay. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides resulted in the efficient generation of mature dendritic cells and exhibited enhanced T-cell stimulation and polarization of naive T cells toward Thl. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides generated potent cytotoxic T-lymphocytes that lysed T2 cells loaded with each 90K peptide, and 90K+/HLA-A2+ colon cancer cell lines, including HCT116 and SW480, in a dose-dependent and HLA-A*O2Ol-restricted manner. No killing was observed in 90K+/HLA-A2- DLD1 or 90K-/HLA-A2- K562 cells. Therefore, we believe that cytotoxic T-lymphocytes stimulated by 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells naturally recognize the 90K peptide presented by colon cancer cells in the context of HLA-A2, and kill 90K-positive tumor cells. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides led to the induction of granzyme B and perforin positive CD8+ T cells against HCT116 and SW480 cells, but not DLD1 cells. In conclusion, 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, generated by stimulating T cells with 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells, could be useful effector cells for the immunotherapv treatment of colon cancer.展开更多
Life-Cycle Cost Analysis(LCCA)for highway projects is an analytical technique that uses economic principles to evaluate long-term alternative investment options,especially for comparing the values of alternative pavem...Life-Cycle Cost Analysis(LCCA)for highway projects is an analytical technique that uses economic principles to evaluate long-term alternative investment options,especially for comparing the values of alternative pavement design structures and construction strategies.Several approaches and software have been adopted to undertake LCCA by many transportation agencies in the United States over the last decade.In 2007,the California Department of Transportation(Caltrans)adopted RealCost,the LCCA software,developed by the U.S.Federal Highway Administration(FHWA).The California implementation incorporates major user interface enhancements and customization.This paper introduces the Caltrans LCCA procedure and describes the functions and improvements of the enhanced California version of RealCost software(RealCost 2.5CA).Automated functions were developed to select efficient and adequate sequences for future maintenance and rehabilitation(M&R)for comparing alternatives.The graphical user interface integrates service life,maintenance frequency,and agency cost of each maintenance activity with given project constraints,such as climate region,final pavement surface,and design life.The automated cost calculation modules estimate future M&R costs based on each construction scope and pavement type.The main focus of the California LCCA enhancement is to improve the efficiency of LCCA procedures with automatic data selection and computations.The RealCost 2.5CA program has been adopted as an official LCCA tool to comply with regulatory requirements for California state highway projects.Utilization of this Californiacustomized LCCA software helps Caltrans to achieve substantial economic benefits(agency cost and road user cost savings)for highway projects.展开更多
AIM:To report CT and MR imaging findings of ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma associated with IgG4-related disease(IgG4-MALT lymphoma),a rare but clinically important complication of ocular adn...AIM:To report CT and MR imaging findings of ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma associated with IgG4-related disease(IgG4-MALT lymphoma),a rare but clinically important complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease.METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed all cases of histologically confirmed ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease at three ter tiary and one secondary referral centers,between February 2003 and December 2016.Seven cases of histopathologically diagnosed IgG4-MALT lymphoma were identified.CT and MR images were analyzed by consensus of two experienced head and neck radiologists.RESULTS:Lacrimal glands were the main site of involvement in all seven patients.The lesions typically showed well-demarcated margins,iso-to hyperattenuation on precontrast CT,T2 hypo-to isointensity,T1 isointensity,and homogenous internal architecture with homogenous enhancement pattern.Lesions were mostly hyperdense and isointense to normal extraocular muscles on postcontrast CT and MR images,respectively.CONCLUSION:Unlike in typical ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT images were noted in some IgG4-MALT lymphoma cases.Although the findings may be nonspecific,the possibility of accompanying MALT lymphoma may need to be considered,when ocular adnexal lesions in patients clinically suspected of having IgG4-related disease are refractory to glucocorticoids and show T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT for the optimal management of the patients.However,this is a case series of a very rare complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,and thus caution is warranted to generalize the conclusion.展开更多
Fires at the Wildland-Urban Interface(WUI)are becoming increasingly hazardous for life safety and property protection.Guidelines and standards for fire practitioners are needed in order to help WUI communities face th...Fires at the Wildland-Urban Interface(WUI)are becoming increasingly hazardous for life safety and property protection.Guidelines and standards for fire practitioners are needed in order to help WUI communities face this threat and become fire-adapted.A performance-based design approach(PBD)is proposed to deal with the complex issues present at the WUI homeowner scale,which entails the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)tools such as FDS in order to identify vulnerabilities in a quantitative manner.An analysis of recent European WUI fires is presented,along with the definition of several pattern scenarios that can be derived from these.Based on this analysis,examples of PBD fire scenarios specific for the Mediterranean WUI microscale are presented,involving glazing systems,roofing and gutters,external structures adjacent to the main building,and gaps present in the building envelope.A worked example to show the implementation of the proposed PBD method is provided in which the fire impact of residential fuel on a glazing system is quantitatively analysed.展开更多

This paper introduces a newly developed planar MOSFET--UniFETTM Ⅱ MOSFET--with highly improved body diode characteristics, and presents its performance and effectiveness. UniFET II MOSFET is divided into normal FET(field effect transistor), FRFET (fast recovery field effect transistor), and Ultra FRFET MOSFETs according to the concentration of lifetime control, and their reverse recovery times are about 70%, 25%, and 15% of that of a conventional MOSFET, respectively. To verify the performance and effectiveness of the new MOSFET, an experiment using a 150 W HID (high intensity discharge) lamp ballast that includes a mixed frequency inverter was implemented. As a result, it was verified that two UniFET Ⅱ MOSFETs can replace two conventional MOSFEs and four additional FRDs (fast recovery diodes) without MOSFET failure.展开更多
With demand increasing for phosphate recovery,a considerable share of current research is dedicated to elaborate multifunctional materials.In this way,the objective of this work was to produce hybrid films from the co...With demand increasing for phosphate recovery,a considerable share of current research is dedicated to elaborate multifunctional materials.In this way,the objective of this work was to produce hybrid films from the combination of cellulose acetate(CA)biopolymer and magnesium and aluminium layered double hydroxides(LDHs)and investigate their performance for phosphate recovery.In this work,the following materials were prepared and characterized:LDH,calcinated LDH(LDH-c),CA film(CAF),CA film with LDH(CAF-LDH)and CA film with LDH-c(CAF-LDH-c).The produced materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis coupled with differential scanning calorimetry and mass spectrometry,attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electronic microscopy.The thickness,H2O absorption(AH2O),stability in H2O and phosphate adsorption of the produced films were evaluated.The adsorption capacity of films was compared to LDHs in powder form.The CAF-LDH and CAF-LDH-c increased film thickness,where CAF-LDH-c was thicker than CAF-LDH.CAF-LDH-c had higher AH2O than the other films,because of its increased thickness and mainly because of the H2O sorption process of these materials.H2O stability of 98.97%for CAF-LDH and 96.81%for CAF-LDH-c suggest the produced films can maintain their structural properties even after a long contact period with aqueous solutions.For the CAF-LDH-c,the maximum adsorption capacity of phosphate,according to the Langmuir-Freundlich model,was 6.98 mg/g.The adsorption value suggests that this film can be used as an efficient phosphorus(P)adsorbent from wastewater or a eutrophicated source.展开更多

This study...A range of different language systems for nursing diagnosis, interventions and outcomes are currently available. Nursing terminologies are intended to support nursing practice but they have to be evaluated. This study aims to assess the results of an expert survey to establish the face validity of a nursing interface terminology. The study applied a descriptive design with a cross-sectional survey strategy using a written questionnaire administered to expert nurses working in hospitals. Sample size was estimated at 35 participants. The questionnaire included topics related to validity and reliability criteria for nursing controlled vocabularies described in the literature. Mean global score and criteria scoring at least 7 were considered main outcome measures. The analysis included descriptive statistics with a confidence level of 95%. The mean global score was 8.1. The mean score for the validity criteria was 8.4 and 7.8 for reliability and applicability criteria. Two of the criteria for reliability and applicability evaluation did not achieve minimum scores. According to the experts’ responses, this terminology meets face validity, but that improvements are required in some criteria and further research is needed to completely demonstrate its metric properties.展开更多

Nursing ...The main goal of this observational and descriptive study is to evaluate whether the diagnosis axis of a nursing interface terminology meets the content validity criterion of being nursing-phenomena oriented. Nursing diagnosis concepts were analyzed in terms of presence in the nursing literature, type of articles published and areas of disciplinary interest. The search strategy was conducted in three databases with limits in relation to period and languages. The final analysis included 287 nursing diagnosis concepts. The results showed that most of the concepts were identified in the scientific literature, with a homogeneous distribution of types of designs. Most of these concepts (87.7%) were studied from two or more areas of disciplinary interest. Validity studies on disciplinary controlled vocabularies may contribute to demonstrate the nursing influence on patients’ outcomes.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Ankylosing spondylitis(AS)is strongly associated with the human leukocyte antigen(HLA)B27 haplotype.In regions where conventional polymerase chain reaction for HLA typing is available for antigens such as HLA B27 or HLA B51,it is common to perform the HLA B27 test for evaluation of AS.While HLA B27-associated clustered occurrences of AS have been reported in families,we report the first case series of HLA B51-related occurrences of AS in a family.CASE SUMMARY A father and his daughters were diagnosed with AS and did not have the HLA B27 haplotype.Although they were positive for HLA B51,they exhibited no signs of Behçet’s disease(BD).Of the five daughters,one had AS,and three,including the daughter with AS,were positive for HLA B51.The two daughters with the HLA B51 haplotype(excluding the daughter with AS)exhibited bilateral grade 1 sacroiliitis,whereas the daughters without the HLA B51 haplotype did not have sacroiliitis.Thus,this Korean family exhibited a strong association with the HLA B51 haplotype and clinical sacroiliitis,irrespective of the symptoms of BD.CONCLUSION It is advisable to check for HLA B51 positivity in patients with AS/spondyloarthropathy who test negative for HLA B27.

文摘Optical gain enhancement of two-dimensional CsPbBr3 nanosheets was studied when the amplified spontaneous emission is guided by a patterned structure of polyurethane-acrylate.Given the uncertainties and pitfalls in retrieving a gain coefficient from the variable stripe length method,a gain contour g((h))ω.x)was obtained in the plane of spectrum energy(hω)and stripe length(x),whereby an average gain was obtained,and gain saturation was analysed.Excitation and temperature dependence of the gain contour show that the waveguide enhances both gain and thermal stability due to the increased optical confinement and heat dissipation,and the gain origins were attributed to the two-dimensional excitons and the localized states.

文摘Formation of galvanic cells between constituent phases is largely responsible for corrosion in Mg-based alloys.We develop a methodology to calculate the electrochemical potentials of intermetallic compounds and alloys using a simple model based on the Born-Haber cycle.Calculated electrochemical potentials are used to predict and control the formation of galvanic cells and minimize corrosion.We demonstrate the applicability of our model by minimizing galvanic corrosion in Mg-3wt%Sr-x Zn alloy by tailoring the Zn composition.The methodology proposed in this work is applicable for any general alloy system and will facilitate efficient design of corrosion resistant alloys.

文摘AIM:To study the prognostic value of carbohydrateantigen 125(CA125) and whether it adds prognostic information to N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) in stable heart failure(HF) patients.METHODS:The predictive value of CA125 was retrospectively assessed in 156 patients with stable HF remitted to the outpatient HF unit for monitoring from 2009 to 2011.Patients were included in the study if they had a previous documented episode of HF and received HF treatment.CA125 and NT-proBNP concentrations were measured.The independent association between NT-proBNP or CA125 and mortality was assessed with Cox regression analysis,and their combined predictive ability was tested by the integrated discrimination improvement(IDI) index.RESULTS:The mean age of the 156 patients was 72 ± 12 years.During follow-up(17 ± 8 mo),27 patients died,1 received an urgent heart transplantation and 106 required hospitalization for HF.Higher CA125 values were correlated with outcomes:58 ± 85 KU/L if hospitalized vs 34 ± 61 KU/L if not(P < 0.05),and 94 ± 121 KU/L in those who died or needed urgent heart transplantation vs 45 ± 78 KU/L in survivors(P < 0.01).After adjusting for propensity scores,the highest risk was observed when both biomarkers were elevated vs not elevated(HR = 8.95,95%CI:3.11-25.73; P < 0.001) and intermediate when only NT-proBNP was elevated vs not elevated(HR = 4.15,95%CI:1.41-12.24; P < 0.01).Moreover,when CA125 was added to the clinical model with NT-proBNP,a 4%(P < 0.05) improvement in the IDI was found.CONCLUSION:CA125 > 60 KU/L identified patients in stable HF with poor survival.Circulating CA125 level adds prognostic value to NT-proBNP level in predicting HF outcomes.
文摘BACKGROUND Immunotherapy has revolutionized the clinical outcomes of intractable cancer patients.Little is known about the intestinal nonpathogenic bacterial composition of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients treated by immunotherapy.AIM To determine whether there is a correlation between gut bacterial composition and prognosis in HCC patients.METHODS From September 2019 to March 2020,we prospectively collected fecal samples and examined the gut microbiome of 8 advanced HCC patients treated with nivolumab as a second-or third-line systemic treatment.Fecal samples were collected before the start of immunotherapy.Fecal samples of patients with progression during treatment were collected at the time of progression,and fecal samples of patients who showed good response to nivolumab were collected after 5-7 mo as follow-up.Metagenomic data from 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing were analyzed using CLC Genomics Workbench.Microbiome data were analyzed according to therapeutic response.RESULTS All 8 patients were male,of which 6 had underlying chronic hepatitis B.A higher Shannon index was found in the responders than in the non-responders after nivolumab therapy(P=0.036).The unweighted beta diversity analysis also showed that the overall bacterial community structure and phylogenetic diversity were clearly distinguished according to therapeutic response.There was no significant difference in the diversity or composition of the patient gut microbiome according to the immunotherapy used.Several taxa specific to therapeutic response were designated as follows:Dialister pneumosintes,Escherichia coli,Lactobacillus reteri,Streptococcus mutans,Enterococcus faecium,Streptococcus gordonii,Veillonella atypica,Granulicatella sp.,and Trchuris trichiura for the nonresponders;Citrobacter freundii,Azospirillum sp.and Enterococcus durans for the responders.Of note,a skewed Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio and a low Prevotella/Bacteroides ratio can serve as predictive markers of non-response,whereas the presence of Akkermansia species predic
文摘Tumor-associated antigen 90K is implicated in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion through its interaction with galectin-3 and integrin-β 1 and is highly expressed in malignant tissues, making it a novel target for the development of new immunotherapies. We investigated a potential immunotherapy treatment for colon cancer using 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes induced by autologous dendritic cells and pulsed with 90K peptides. We selected three peptides (90K3s1, 90K5 and 90K523) that bind to HLA-A*0201 molecules on the basis of their binding affinity, as determined by a peptide-T2 binding assay. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides resulted in the efficient generation of mature dendritic cells and exhibited enhanced T-cell stimulation and polarization of naive T cells toward Thl. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides generated potent cytotoxic T-lymphocytes that lysed T2 cells loaded with each 90K peptide, and 90K+/HLA-A2+ colon cancer cell lines, including HCT116 and SW480, in a dose-dependent and HLA-A*O2Ol-restricted manner. No killing was observed in 90K+/HLA-A2- DLD1 or 90K-/HLA-A2- K562 cells. Therefore, we believe that cytotoxic T-lymphocytes stimulated by 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells naturally recognize the 90K peptide presented by colon cancer cells in the context of HLA-A2, and kill 90K-positive tumor cells. Dendritic cells pulsed with 90K peptides led to the induction of granzyme B and perforin positive CD8+ T cells against HCT116 and SW480 cells, but not DLD1 cells. In conclusion, 90K-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, generated by stimulating T cells with 90K peptide-pulsed dendritic cells, could be useful effector cells for the immunotherapv treatment of colon cancer.
文摘Life-Cycle Cost Analysis(LCCA)for highway projects is an analytical technique that uses economic principles to evaluate long-term alternative investment options,especially for comparing the values of alternative pavement design structures and construction strategies.Several approaches and software have been adopted to undertake LCCA by many transportation agencies in the United States over the last decade.In 2007,the California Department of Transportation(Caltrans)adopted RealCost,the LCCA software,developed by the U.S.Federal Highway Administration(FHWA).The California implementation incorporates major user interface enhancements and customization.This paper introduces the Caltrans LCCA procedure and describes the functions and improvements of the enhanced California version of RealCost software(RealCost 2.5CA).Automated functions were developed to select efficient and adequate sequences for future maintenance and rehabilitation(M&R)for comparing alternatives.The graphical user interface integrates service life,maintenance frequency,and agency cost of each maintenance activity with given project constraints,such as climate region,final pavement surface,and design life.The automated cost calculation modules estimate future M&R costs based on each construction scope and pavement type.The main focus of the California LCCA enhancement is to improve the efficiency of LCCA procedures with automatic data selection and computations.The RealCost 2.5CA program has been adopted as an official LCCA tool to comply with regulatory requirements for California state highway projects.Utilization of this Californiacustomized LCCA software helps Caltrans to achieve substantial economic benefits(agency cost and road user cost savings)for highway projects.
文摘AIM:To report CT and MR imaging findings of ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma associated with IgG4-related disease(IgG4-MALT lymphoma),a rare but clinically important complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease.METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed all cases of histologically confirmed ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease at three ter tiary and one secondary referral centers,between February 2003 and December 2016.Seven cases of histopathologically diagnosed IgG4-MALT lymphoma were identified.CT and MR images were analyzed by consensus of two experienced head and neck radiologists.RESULTS:Lacrimal glands were the main site of involvement in all seven patients.The lesions typically showed well-demarcated margins,iso-to hyperattenuation on precontrast CT,T2 hypo-to isointensity,T1 isointensity,and homogenous internal architecture with homogenous enhancement pattern.Lesions were mostly hyperdense and isointense to normal extraocular muscles on postcontrast CT and MR images,respectively.CONCLUSION:Unlike in typical ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT images were noted in some IgG4-MALT lymphoma cases.Although the findings may be nonspecific,the possibility of accompanying MALT lymphoma may need to be considered,when ocular adnexal lesions in patients clinically suspected of having IgG4-related disease are refractory to glucocorticoids and show T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT for the optimal management of the patients.However,this is a case series of a very rare complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,and thus caution is warranted to generalize the conclusion.

文摘Fires at the Wildland-Urban Interface(WUI)are becoming increasingly hazardous for life safety and property protection.Guidelines and standards for fire practitioners are needed in order to help WUI communities face this threat and become fire-adapted.A performance-based design approach(PBD)is proposed to deal with the complex issues present at the WUI homeowner scale,which entails the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)tools such as FDS in order to identify vulnerabilities in a quantitative manner.An analysis of recent European WUI fires is presented,along with the definition of several pattern scenarios that can be derived from these.Based on this analysis,examples of PBD fire scenarios specific for the Mediterranean WUI microscale are presented,involving glazing systems,roofing and gutters,external structures adjacent to the main building,and gaps present in the building envelope.A worked example to show the implementation of the proposed PBD method is provided in which the fire impact of residential fuel on a glazing system is quantitatively analysed.
文摘An advanced cell structure and lifetime control technology has enhanced on-resistance and reverse recovery performance of power MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) simultaneously. This paper introduces a newly developed planar MOSFET--UniFETTM Ⅱ MOSFET--with highly improved body diode characteristics, and presents its performance and effectiveness. UniFET II MOSFET is divided into normal FET(field effect transistor), FRFET (fast recovery field effect transistor), and Ultra FRFET MOSFETs according to the concentration of lifetime control, and their reverse recovery times are about 70%, 25%, and 15% of that of a conventional MOSFET, respectively. To verify the performance and effectiveness of the new MOSFET, an experiment using a 150 W HID (high intensity discharge) lamp ballast that includes a mixed frequency inverter was implemented. As a result, it was verified that two UniFET Ⅱ MOSFETs can replace two conventional MOSFEs and four additional FRDs (fast recovery diodes) without MOSFET failure.
文摘With demand increasing for phosphate recovery,a considerable share of current research is dedicated to elaborate multifunctional materials.In this way,the objective of this work was to produce hybrid films from the combination of cellulose acetate(CA)biopolymer and magnesium and aluminium layered double hydroxides(LDHs)and investigate their performance for phosphate recovery.In this work,the following materials were prepared and characterized:LDH,calcinated LDH(LDH-c),CA film(CAF),CA film with LDH(CAF-LDH)and CA film with LDH-c(CAF-LDH-c).The produced materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis coupled with differential scanning calorimetry and mass spectrometry,attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electronic microscopy.The thickness,H2O absorption(AH2O),stability in H2O and phosphate adsorption of the produced films were evaluated.The adsorption capacity of films was compared to LDHs in powder form.The CAF-LDH and CAF-LDH-c increased film thickness,where CAF-LDH-c was thicker than CAF-LDH.CAF-LDH-c had higher AH2O than the other films,because of its increased thickness and mainly because of the H2O sorption process of these materials.H2O stability of 98.97%for CAF-LDH and 96.81%for CAF-LDH-c suggest the produced films can maintain their structural properties even after a long contact period with aqueous solutions.For the CAF-LDH-c,the maximum adsorption capacity of phosphate,according to the Langmuir-Freundlich model,was 6.98 mg/g.The adsorption value suggests that this film can be used as an efficient phosphorus(P)adsorbent from wastewater or a eutrophicated source.
文摘A range of different language systems for nursing diagnosis, interventions and outcomes are currently available. Nursing terminologies are intended to support nursing practice but they have to be evaluated. This study aims to assess the results of an expert survey to establish the face validity of a nursing interface terminology. The study applied a descriptive design with a cross-sectional survey strategy using a written questionnaire administered to expert nurses working in hospitals. Sample size was estimated at 35 participants. The questionnaire included topics related to validity and reliability criteria for nursing controlled vocabularies described in the literature. Mean global score and criteria scoring at least 7 were considered main outcome measures. The analysis included descriptive statistics with a confidence level of 95%. The mean global score was 8.1. The mean score for the validity criteria was 8.4 and 7.8 for reliability and applicability criteria. Two of the criteria for reliability and applicability evaluation did not achieve minimum scores. According to the experts’ responses, this terminology meets face validity, but that improvements are required in some criteria and further research is needed to completely demonstrate its metric properties.
文摘The main goal of this observational and descriptive study is to evaluate whether the diagnosis axis of a nursing interface terminology meets the content validity criterion of being nursing-phenomena oriented. Nursing diagnosis concepts were analyzed in terms of presence in the nursing literature, type of articles published and areas of disciplinary interest. The search strategy was conducted in three databases with limits in relation to period and languages. The final analysis included 287 nursing diagnosis concepts. The results showed that most of the concepts were identified in the scientific literature, with a homogeneous distribution of types of designs. Most of these concepts (87.7%) were studied from two or more areas of disciplinary interest. Validity studies on disciplinary controlled vocabularies may contribute to demonstrate the nursing influence on patients’ outcomes.
