Environmental arsenic(As) contamination,considered as the largest mass poisoning of the human population,has become a serious health concern for the people of South East Asia,including those living in the Bengal delta...Environmental arsenic(As) contamination,considered as the largest mass poisoning of the human population,has become a serious health concern for the people of South East Asia,including those living in the Bengal delta.An As-resistant strain,KUMAs15,was isolated from the As-contaminated fields in Nadia Ddistrict in West Bengal,India and was evaluated for its possible use in environmental As bioremediation.Molecular identification based on 16S rDNA gene sequencing revealed that the strain belonged to the genus Micrococcus.The strain tolerated high levels of As and oxidized arsenite under the culture condition.The strain also accumulated large quantities of As when exposed to a wide range of environmentally relevant concentrations of inorganic As.Analysis of the aoxB,arsB,and arsC gene expression explained the underlying cause of arsenite oxidation and As accumulation by KUMAs15.The As-resistant strain KUMAs15 of Micrococcus sp.was suggested to be a potential environmental As decontaminant.展开更多
Objective:To ascertain analgesic,antibacterial and central nervous system(CNS)depressant activities of ethyl acetate,dichloromethane and carbon tetrachloride fractions of methanol extract of Albizia proceru(A.procera)...Objective:To ascertain analgesic,antibacterial and central nervous system(CNS)depressant activities of ethyl acetate,dichloromethane and carbon tetrachloride fractions of methanol extract of Albizia proceru(A.procera)leaves.Methods:Leaves extracts of A.procera were tested for analgesic activity by acetic acid induced and formalin test method in mice.The in vitro antibacterial activity was performed by agar well diffusion method.CNS depressant activity was evaluated by hole cross and open field tests.Results:All the extracts at 200 mg/kg exhibited significant(P<0.01)analgesic activity in acetic acid induced and formalin tests method in mice.Analgesic activity of the ethyl acetate fraction was almost same like as standard drug indomelhacin in acetic acid induced method.The CNS depressant activity of the extracts at 500 mg/kg was comparable to the positive control diazepam as determined by hole cross and open field test method.The extracts exhibited moderate antimicrobial activity against all the tested microorganisms(Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus cereus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Esherichia coli,Shigetta soneii.Shigella boydii)at concentration of 0.8 mg/disc.The measured diameter of zone of inhibition for the extracts was within the range of 7 to 12 mm which was less than the standard kanamycin(16-24 mm).Conclusions:It is concluded that all the extracts possess potential analgesic and CNS depressants activity.This study also showed that different fractions of methanol extract could be potential sources of new antimicrobial agents.展开更多
The(3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and the modified KdV-Zakharov-Kuznetsov equations have a significant impact in modern science for their widespread applications in the theory of long-wave propagation,dynami...The(3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and the modified KdV-Zakharov-Kuznetsov equations have a significant impact in modern science for their widespread applications in the theory of long-wave propagation,dynamics of shallow water wave,plasma fluid model,chemical kinematics,chemical engineering,geochemistry,and many other topics.In this article,we have assessed the effects of wave speed and physical parameters on the wave contours and confirmed that waveform changes with the variety of the free factors in it.As a result,wave solutions are extensively analyzed by using the balancing condition on the linear and nonlinear terms of the highest order and extracted different standard wave configurations,containing kink,breather soliton,bell-shaped soliton,and periodic waves.To extract the soliton solutions of the high-dimensional nonlinear evolution equations,a recently developed approach of the sine-Gordon expansion method is used to derive the wave solutions directly.The sine-Gordon expansion approach is a potent and strategic mathematical tool for instituting ample of new traveling wave solutions of nonlinear equations.This study established the efficiency of the described method in solving evolution equations which are nonlinear and with higher dimension(HNEEs).Closed-form solutions are carefully illustrated and discussed through diagrams.展开更多
In this article,we establish solitary wave solutions to the Estevez-MansfieldClarkson(EMC)equation and the coupled sine-Gordon equations which are model equations to analyze the formation of shapes in liquid drops,su...In this article,we establish solitary wave solutions to the Estevez-MansfieldClarkson(EMC)equation and the coupled sine-Gordon equations which are model equations to analyze the formation of shapes in liquid drops,surfaces of negative constant curvature,etc.through contriving the generalized Kudryashov method.The extracted results introduce several types’solitary waves,such as the kink soliton,bell-shape soliton,compacton,singular soliton,peakon and other sort of soliton for distinct valuation of the unknown parameters.The achieved analytic solutions are interpreted in details and their 2D and 3D graphs are sketched.The obtained solutions and the physical structures explain the soliton phenomenon and reproduce the dynamic properties of the front of the travelling wave deformation generated in the dispersive media.It shows that the generalized Kudryashov method is powerful,compatible and might be used in further works to found novel solutions for other types of nonlinear evolution equations ascending in physical science and engineering.展开更多
