Dihadron azimuthal correlations containing a high transverse momentum(pr)trigger particle are sensit-ive to the properties of the nuclear medium created at RHIC through the strong interactions occurring between the traversing parton and the medium,ie.jet-quenching.Previous measurements revealed a strong modification to di-hadron azimuthal correlations in Au+Au collisions with respect to ptp and d+Au collisions.The modification in-creases with the collision centrality,suggesting a path-length or energy density dependence to the je-quenching ef-fect.This paper reports STAR measurements of dihadron azimuthal correlations in mid-central(20%-60%)Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV as a function of the trigger particle's azimuthal angle relative to the event plane,Ф_(s)=|Ф_(t)-ψ_(Ep)|.The azimuthal correlation is studied as a function of both the trigger and associated particle pr.The subtractions of the combinatorial background and anisotropic flow,assuming Zero Yield At Minimum(ZYAM),are described.The correlation results are first discussed with subtraction of the even harmonic(elliptic and quadrangu-lar)flow backgrounds.The away-side correlation is strongly modifed,and the modification varies withФ_(s),with a double-peak structure for out-of-plane trigger particles.The near-side ridge(long range pseudo-rapidity△_(η)correla-tion)appears to drop with increasingФ_(s)while the jet-like component remains approximately constant.The correla-tion functions are further studied with the subtraction of odd harmonic triangular flow background arising from fluc-tuations.It is found that the triangular flow,while responsible for the majority of the amplitudes,is not sufficient to explain theφs-dependence of the ridge or the away-side double-peak structure.The dropping ridge withФ_(s)could be attributed to aФ_(s)-dependent lliptie anisotropy;however,the physics mechanism of the ridge remains an open ques-tion.Even with aФ_(s)-dependent elliptic flow,the away-side correlation structure is robust.These results,with exte 展开更多

Using e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays... Using e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).The fit fractions of individual components are obtained,and large interferences among the dominant components of the decays D^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2(ππ)_(S)are observed in both channels.With the obtained amplitude model,the CP-even fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2±1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,respectively.The branching fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to be(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.025_(stat.)±0.021_(syst.))%,respectively.The amplitude analysis provides an important model for the binning strategy in measuring the strong phase parameters of D^(0)→4πwhen used to determine the CKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via the B^(−)→DK^(−)decay. 展开更多

A series Co-(18.5–20.7) at.% B melts encompassing the eutectic composition(Co81.5B18.5) were solidified at different degrees of undercooling. It is found that the metastable Co23B6 phase solidifies as a substitute for the stable Co3 B phase in the alloy melts undercooled above a critical undercooling value of -60 K.The Co23B6 and α-Co phases make up a metastable eutectic. The corresponding eutectic composition and temperature are Co80.4B19.6 and 1343 K, respectively. On exposure of the metastable Co23B6 phase at a given temperature above 1208 K, it does not decompose even after several hours. But it transforms by a eutectoid reaction to α-Co + Co3 B at lower temperature. 展开更多

The strength of traditional Al-Mg alloys is relatively low because it mainly relies on solid solution strengthening.Adding a third component to form precipitation can improve their strength,but it usually leads to high-stress corrosion cracking(SCC)sensitivity due to the formation of high-density precipitates at grain boundaries(GBs).So far,it is still challenging to improve the strength of Al-Mg alloys without re-ducing SCC resistance.Herein,a nanostructured Al-5Mg-3 Zn alloy with a good yield strength of 336 MPa and good elongation was successfully produced.By dynamic plastic deformation and appropriate anneal-ing treatment,near-equiaxed nanograins were introduced in the nanostructured Al-5Mg-3 Zn alloy with a high proportion(71%)of the low-angle grain boundary.TEM statistical investigations show that the pre-cipitation of active T’phase at GBs has been greatly suppressed in the nanostructured Al-5Mg-3 Zn alloy at sensitized conditions,and the area fraction of GB precipitates is reduced from 72%to 21%,which sig-nificantly decreases the SCC susceptibility.This study provides guidance for developing advanced Al-Mg alloy with high SCC resistance. 展开更多

A universal numerical model based on the particle size distribution(PSD)approach has been developed for the simulation of precipitation kinetics in multicomponent alloys during isothermal ageing.Nucleation was implemented utilizing the classical nucleation theory(CNT).Growth and coarsening were modeled by a single growth kinetics equation,which is constructed based on the interfacial diffusion flux balance and the capillarity effect.Only partial off-diagonal terms in the diffusion matrix(diffusion of individual components in the matrix)were taken into account in the calculations to minimize the computational cost while coupling with CALPHAD to extract thermodynamics equilibrium around the interface.A new feature of the model is the incorporation of a more realistic spatial site distribution via a Voronoi construction in the characteristic cell,for the purpose of modifying the diffusion distance.Computational predictions of the precipitate dimensions and the precipitation kinetics were compared with the atom probe tomography(APT)measurements on ternary Ni-Al-Cr alloys isothermally aged at 873 K.It is found that the temporal evolution of the dimensions and composition of the precipitates is well captured,as is the dependence on changes in the alloy composition.The new modification with Voronoi construction demonstrates that the overall precipitation kinetics depends on the density and the spatial site distribution of precipitates.The ability to handle sophisticated alloy chemistries by quantitative equations,the compositional sensitivity of microstructural characteristics emerging from the simulation results,and the ability to visualize the spatial distribution of precipitates make the work very promising for multicomponent alloy design and optimization. 展开更多

In this work a new nanoscale surface marking technique,namely electron beam damage induced surface marking(EBDISM),is developed and tested for the first time on a fine-grained pure Mg surface.This technique utilizes focused high-energy electron beam of a scanning electron microscope to“burn”dense arrays of nano-scale grid patterns on the sample surface,and it is proved to be very effective for identifying and measuring localised deformation behaviours.However,the surface marking deposited by EBDISM is not permanent and it tends to deteriorate overtime.Cheap,easy to use and versatile,the EBDISM technique has a huge potential for quantitative measurement of strain field and nano-scale deformation analysis. 展开更多

Dielectric properties of amorphous Bi-Ti-O thin films

We report the unexpectedly excellent dielectric properties of amorphous thin films with compositions in the Bi-Ti-O system.Films were deposited by RF magnetron reactive co-sputtering.In the composition range of 0.5<x<0.7,amorphous Bi_(1−x)Ti_(x)O_(y) exhibits excellent dielectric properties,with a high dielectric constant,ε_(r)~53,and a dissipation factor as low as tanδ=0.007.The corresponding maximum breakdown field reaches~1.6 MV/cm,yielding a maximum stored charge per unit area of up to 8μC/cm^(2).This work demonstrates the potential of amorphous Bi-Ti-O as a high-performance thin-film dielectric material that is compatible with high-performance integrated circuits. 展开更多

There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B fac... There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related X(1835) meson state at BESⅢ, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESⅢ during the remaining operation period of BEPCⅡ. This survey will help in the optimization of the data-taking plan over the coming years, and provides physics motivation for the possible upgrade of BEPCⅡ to higher luminosity. 展开更多

Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the J/ψpeak,we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector.The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes,namely Bhabha scattering,dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles.The combined efficiency of all active triggers approaches 100%in most cases,with uncertainties small enough not to affect most physics analyses. 展开更多

Using inclusive decays of J/ψ aprecise determination of the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector was performed.For the two data sets taken in 2009 and 2012,the numbers of J/ψ events were recalculated to be(224.0±1.3)×10^(6) and(1088.5±4.4)×10^(6),respectively;these numbers are in good agreement with the previous measurements. For the J/ψ sample taken in 2017-2019,the number of events was determined to be(8774.0±39.4)×10^(6).The total number of J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector was determined to be(10087±44)×10^(6),where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects,and the statistical uncertainty is negligible. 展开更多

The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge(HZMB)involved the installation of 120 mega-cylinders with a diameter of 22 m,weights up to 513 t,and penetration depths up to 33 m using an eight-vibratory hammer group.Due to the lack of engineering experience on the drivability of large-diameter cylinders under multiple vibratory hammers,predicting the penetration rate and time of steel cylinders is an open challenge that has a considerable impact on the construction control of the HZMB.In this study,the vibratory penetration of large-diameter steel cylinders in the HZMB is investigated based on geological surveys,field monitoring,and drivability analysis.The vibratory penetration rate,installation accuracy,and dynamic responses of the steel cylinders at both the eastern and western artificial islands are analyzed.The dynamic soil resistance has a great influence on the cylinder drivability.However,the current design methods for estimating the vibratory driving soil resistance are proven inaccurate without considering the scale effects.Therefore,a modified method with a normalized effective area ratio A_(r,eff)is proposed in this study to calculate the vibratory soil resistance for open-ended thin-wall cylinders under unplugged conditions.Considering the scale effects on the vibratory driving soil resistance,the proposed method leads to closer results to the measured data,providing a reference for future engineering practice. 展开更多

During the 2016-17 and 2018-19 running periods,the BESIII experiment collected 7.5 fb of e^(+)e^(-)collision data at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.13 to 4.44 GeV.These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states.By analyzing the di-muon process e^(+)e^(-)→(γISR=FSR)μ^(+)μ^(-),we measure the center-of-mass energies of the data samples with a precision of 0.6 MeV.Through a run-by-run study,we find that the center-of-mass energies were stable throughout most of the data-collection period. 展开更多

Studies of e^+e~→D_s^+■^((*)0)K^-and the P-wave charmed-strange mesons are performed based on an e^+e^-collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb^(-1) collected with the BESIII detecto... Studies of e^+e~→D_s^+■^((*)0)K^-and the P-wave charmed-strange mesons are performed based on an e^+e^-collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb^(-1) collected with the BESIII detector at s^(1/2)=4.600 GeV. The processes of e^+e^-→D_s^+■^(*0)K^- and D_s^+■~0K^- are observed for the first time and are found to be dominated by the modes D_s^+D_(s1)(2536)^-and D_s^+D_(s2)~*(2573)^-, respectively. The Born cross sections are measured to be σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+■^(*0)K^-) =(10.1±2.3±0.8) pb and σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+■~0K^-) =(19.4±2.3± 1.6) pb, and the products of Born cross section and the decay branching fraction are measured to be σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+D_(s1)(2536)^-+c.c.)·B(D_(s1)(2536)^-→■^(*0)K^-)=(7.5±1.8±0.7) pb and σ~B(e^+e^-→D_s^+D_(s2)~*(2573)^-+ c.c.)·B(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-→■~0 K^-)=(19.7 ± 2.9 ±2.0) pb. For the D_(s1)(2536)^-and D_(s2)~*(2573)^-mesons, the masses and widths are measured to be M(D_(s1)(2536)^-)=(2537.7±0.5 ±3.1) MeV/c2, Γ(D_(s1)(2536)^-) =(1.7 ±1.2 ±0.6)MeV, and M(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-)=(2570.7±2.0 ±1.7) MeV/c^2, Γ(D_(s2)~*(2573)^-)=(17.2 ±3.6 ±1.1) MeV. The spin-parity of the D_(s2)~*(2573)^-meson is determined to be J^p= 2^+. In addition, the processes e^+e^-→D_s^+■^((*)0)K^-are searched for using the data samples taken at four(two) center-of-mass energies between 4.416(4.527) and 4.575 GeV, and upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the cross sections are determined. 展开更多

对比了6个基于地理信息系统(GIS)的地震滑坡易发性评价模型,包括二元统计(BS)、逻辑回归(LR)、人工神经网络(ANN),以及基于线性、多项式和径向基三种核函数类型的支持向量机(SVM)模型。这些模型被应用于嘉陵江的支流——涪江的一个支流... 对比了6个基于地理信息系统(GIS)的地震滑坡易发性评价模型,包括二元统计(BS)、逻辑回归(LR)、人工神经网络(ANN),以及基于线性、多项式和径向基三种核函数类型的支持向量机(SVM)模型。这些模型被应用于嘉陵江的支流——涪江的一个支流流域,该区域是2008年5月12日汶川地震影响区的一部分。滑坡编录图、坡度、坡向、高程、斜坡曲率、到水系距离、地形湿度指数(TWI)、到公路距离、到地表破裂距离、峰值地动加速度(PGA)和岩性共11个专题图层被应用到该研究中。根据上述6类地震滑坡易发性评价模型与应用同样的输入,得到6个地震滑坡易发性索引图。利用2个曲线下面积(AUC)指标分别表示模型正确率和预测率,来检验这6类模型的性能。结果表明逻辑回归模型的结果成功率和预测率均为最高,为80.34%和80.27%。其次为基于径向基函数的支持向量机模型,其成功率和预测率分别为80.302%和80.151%,与逻辑回归模型的结果接近。结果最差的是基于线性函数的支持向量机模型,成功率和预测率分别仅为72.52%和72.533%。此外,结果表明径向基核函数是该区域地震滑坡易发性评价工作的3种核函数中最合适的核函数。一直以来,研究人员认为软计算技术(如人工神经网络和支持向量机)的性能要好于逻辑回归和二元统计模型,本研究提供了一个反例。 展开更多

We report the properties of more than 600 bursts(including cluster-bursts)detected from the repeating fast radio burst(FRB)source FRB 20201124A with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope during an extremely active episode on UTC 2021 September 25–28,in a series of four papers.The observations were carried out in the band of 1.0–1.5 GHz by using the center beam of the L-band 19-beam receiver.We monitored the source in sixteen1 hr sessions and one 3 hr session spanning 23 days.All the bursts were detected during the first four days.In this first paper of the series,we perform a detailed morphological study of 624 bursts using the two-dimensional frequencytime“waterfall”plots,with a burst(or cluster-burst)defined as an emission episode during which the adjacent emission peaks have a separation shorter than 400 ms.The duration of a burst is therefore always longer than 1 ms,with the longest up to more than 120 ms.The emission spectra of the sub-bursts are typically narrow within the observing band with a characteristic width of~277 MHz.The center frequency distribution has a dominant peak at about 1091.9 MHz and a secondary weak peak around 1327.9 MHz.Most bursts show a frequencydownwarddrifting pattern.Based on the drifting patterns,we classify the bursts into five main categories:downward drifting(263)bursts,upward drifting(3)bursts,complex(203),no drifting(35)bursts,and no evidence for drifting(121)bursts.Subtypes are introduced based on the emission frequency range in the band(low,middle,high and wide)as well as the number of components in one burst(1,2,or multiple).We measured a varying scintillation bandwidth from about 0.5 MHz at 1.0 GHz to 1.4 MHz at 1.5 GHz with a spectral index of 3.0. 展开更多

求取滑坡体积在当前是一个难题,原因是其为三维分量,并且部分滑面往往在地下。本文提出了3个区域地震滑坡体积优化模型来计算2008年中国汶川M W7.9地震触发滑坡的体积。本文首先基于20m分辨率的震前和震后SPOT 5卫星影像提取到的数字高... 求取滑坡体积在当前是一个难题,原因是其为三维分量,并且部分滑面往往在地下。本文提出了3个区域地震滑坡体积优化模型来计算2008年中国汶川M W7.9地震触发滑坡的体积。本文首先基于20m分辨率的震前和震后SPOT 5卫星影像提取到的数字高程模型(DEM)数据,结合少数滑坡的剖面图,获得了1 415处汶川地震滑坡堆积区体积,作为地震滑坡体积模型训练样本。在常规区域滑坡"体积—面积"模型基础上,提出了3个优化模型。分别利用数据的对数化线性拟合与直接非线性拟合方法对1个常规模型和3个优化模型进行拟合。结果表明,采用直接非线性拟合方法并考虑了滑坡长、宽、高、岩性、坡度和峰值地动加速度后,坡向的优化模型标准误差最小,回归得到的滑坡总体积与滑坡真实总体积也非常接近。将这一模型应用于所有汶川地震滑坡,分别得到每个滑坡的体积。最终结果表明,汶川地震滑坡相对密集分布区内的196 007处滑坡的堆积物体积约为1.2×1010 m^3,源区体积约为1×1010 m^3。根据前人"地震震级—滑坡总体积"经验公式得到的结果仅仅是本文结果的7.5%~9%,这提醒我们有必要基于更多的单次地震触发滑坡总体体积数据对"地震震级—滑坡总体积"的关系进行更新。同时,文中的优化模型对同类研究也有显著的参考价值。 展开更多

The mechanical behavior of nanoscale metallic multilayers (NMMs) has attracted much attention from both scientific and practical views. Compared with their monolithic counterparts, the large number of interfaces existing in the NMMs dictates the unique behavior of this special class of structural composite materials. While there have been a number of reviews on the mechanical mechanism of micro- laminates, the rapid development of nanotechnology brought a pressing need for an overview focusing exclusively on a property-based definition of the NMMs, especially their size- dependent microstructure and mechanical performance. This article attempts to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date review on the microstructure, mechanical property and plas- tic deformation physics of NMMs. We hope this review could accomplish two purposes: (1) introducing the basic concepts of scaling and dimensional analysis to scientists and engi- neers working on NMM systems, and (2) providing a better understanding of interface behavior and the exceptional qual- ities the interfaces in NMMs display at atomic scale. 展开更多

Ce-incorporated apatite(Ce-HA) nano-scale particles with different Ce percentage contents(atomic ratio of Ce to Ce + Ca is 5%,10%and 20%,respectively) were synthesized via a simple wet chemical method in this study.The crystal structure,chemical groups,thermal stability,crystal morphologies and crystal sizes of the Ce-HA nano-particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The influences of reaction temperature,reaction time,pH value,and the atomic ratio of Ce to Ce + Ca on the structure and performance of Ce-HA particles were studied.The results show that the lattice constants,particle sizes,crystallinity and thermal stability of Ce-HA vary with the doped Ce contents.With the increase of Ce content,the lattice constants of the Ce-HA nano-particles remarkably increase but the particle size,crystallinity and thermal stability gradually decrease.The reaction temperature as well as the reaction time has no significant effect on the properties of the final products,while the pH value has a direct relationship with their final chemical composition.The obtained Ce-HA nanosize particles possess potential application in preparing artificial bone implants,bone tissue engineering scaffold and other bioactive coatings. 展开更多
