In the present research work, various controlling factors for fluoride contamination in groundwater i.e., geology, aquifer type, groundwater table, soil, rainfall, geomorphology, drainage density, land use land cover, lineament and fault density, slope and elevation were considered to delineate the potential fluoride contamination zones within Dwarka River Basin in Birbhum. Assigning weights and ranks to various inputs factor class and their sub-class respectively was carried out on the basis of knowledge driven method. Weighted overlay analysis was carried out to generate the final potential fluoride contamination zones which are classified into two broad classes i.e., 'high' and 'low', and it is observed that major portion of the study area falls under low fluoride contamination category encompassing 88.61% of the total area which accounts for 759.48 km^2 and high fluoride contaminated region accounts for 11.40% of the total study area encompassing an area of about 97.67 km^2. Majority of high fluoride areas fall along the flood plain of Dwarka River Basin. Finally, for validation 197 reported points within Dwarka having fluoride in underground water are overlaid and an overall accuracy of 92.15% is observed. An accuracy of 83.21% and84.24% is obtained for success and prediction rate curve respectively.展开更多

The synthesis, structure, densification, conductivity and thermal expansion were studied, and the structure and phase were confirmed by XRD. Dense ceramics were obtained through sintering the pellets at 1300 ℃. 2% and 4% Al2O3 were added into Ce0.8Sm0.2O2 to promote the densification at 1250 ℃. The surface morphology of the sintered pellets was analyzed using SEM. A two-probe AC impedance spectroscopy was used to study the total ionic conductivity.展开更多

The pristine material was characterized by X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). X-ray diffraction results show that the pure phase of La0.8Sr0.2MnO3-δ (LSM) perovskite was formed at 1250oC. Scanning electron microscopy characterization shows that a highly porous material can be obtained using a soft-chemical method with different 3,3’,3”-nitrilotripropionic acid ( NTP) to metal-ion ratio R.展开更多

The influence of calcination temperature on the phase and morphology of obtained pristine product were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Cyclic voltammogram studies were conducted to examine the electrochemical performance of cathodes made of vanadium oxide nanostructures. X-ray diffraction results show that, the particle size of the nanomaterials is increases with the increasing of calcination temperature.展开更多

In the laboratory bioassays, suspension of conidia, ≥106 CFU/mL, caused mortalities > 80% on adults of both weevils in seven days after inoculation. It took longer time 20 days for grain formulation of the isolate adhered on rice grains of ≥5 g/m2 (107 CFU/g) to attain similar mortalities of E. postfasciatus, but no evident mortality was obtained in C. formicarius. The grain formulation was thus less effective on C. formicarius than the suspension. Field trials were carried out over two years from 2013 to 2014, in which adults of E. postfasciatus were released two times during the field experiments for enhancement of damage on plants by this weevil, whereas the other weevil species was left to naturally invade the experimental plots by flying. The results of the experiments revealed in both years that two applications of the isolate in grain formulation, equivalent to 50 kg/hectare, sprayed manually over the ground surface reduced the infestation of plants and tuber damage by weevils of both species as much as the conventional chemical insecticide applications. The occurrences of weevils at harvest were not significantly different among treatments. The potential and possible uses of the fungus are discussed for the management of these two weevil species.展开更多
