We propose a method to establish a dynamic model for a wave glider, a wave-propelled sea surface vehicle that can make use of wave energy to obtain thrust. The vehicle, composed of a surface float and a submerged glid...We propose a method to establish a dynamic model for a wave glider, a wave-propelled sea surface vehicle that can make use of wave energy to obtain thrust. The vehicle, composed of a surface float and a submerged glider in sea water, is regarded as a two-particle system. Kane's equations are used to establish the dynamic model. To verify the model, the design of a testing prototype is proposed and pool trials are conducted. The speeds of the vehicle under different sea conditions can be computed using the model, which is verified by pool trials. The optimal structure parameters useful for vehicle designs can also be obtained from the model. We illustrate how to build an analytical dynamics model for the wave glider, which is a crucial basis for the vehicle's motion control. The dynamics model also provides foundations for an off-line simulation of vehicle performance and the optimization of its mechanical designs.展开更多
Hamamatsu R1924A is one of the most widely used photomultiplier tubes(PMTs) in nuclear physics.Since the active base suitable for R1924A is still not available in market, an active base is designed for Hamamatsu R1924...Hamamatsu R1924A is one of the most widely used photomultiplier tubes(PMTs) in nuclear physics.Since the active base suitable for R1924A is still not available in market, an active base is designed for Hamamatsu R1924A PMT, and the test results at high counting rates are presented. The active bases with two different sets of resistor chains were tested and compared by a frequency-controlled green straw hat LED light. A stable signal output up to 100 kHz is achieved using frequency-controlled LED pulsed light. The temperature of bases, which reflects the power consumption and is crucial for applications in vacuum, is also monitored with the same LED pulsed light. The temperature of the active base with smaller resistances reaches about twice of that of the active base with larger resistances in the resistor chain. For the applications in vacuum, the active base with resistance between the two sets of resistor chains may be preferable.展开更多
Wild grapevines can show strong resistance to the downy mildew pathogen P.viticola,but the associated mechanisms are poorly described,especially at early stages of infection.Here,we performed comparative proteomic ana...Wild grapevines can show strong resistance to the downy mildew pathogen P.viticola,but the associated mechanisms are poorly described,especially at early stages of infection.Here,we performed comparative proteomic analyses of grapevine leaves from the resistant genotype V.davidii“LiuBa-8”(LB)and susceptible V.vinifera“Pinot Noir”(PN)12h after inoculation with P.viticola.By employing the iTRAQ technique,a total of 444 and 349 differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)were identified in LB and PN,respectively.The majority of these DEPs were related to photosynthesis,respiration,cell wall modification,protein metabolism,stress,and redox homeostasis.Compared with PN,LB showed fewer downregulated proteins associated with photosynthesis and more upregulated proteins associated with metabolism.At least a subset of PR proteins(PR10.2 and PR10.3)was upregulated upon inoculation in both genotypes,whereas HSP(HSP70.2 and HSP90.6)and cell wall-related XTH and BXL1 proteins were specifically upregulated in LB and PN,respectively.In the incompatible interaction,ROS signaling was evident by the accumulation of H_(2)O_(2),and multiple APX and GST proteins were upregulated.These DEPs may play crucial roles in the grapevine response to downy mildew.Our results provide new insights into molecular events associated with downy mildew resistance in grapevine,which may be exploited to develop novel protection strategies against this disease.展开更多
The C^2Π-X^2Π(0,0)band of AgO has been reinvestigated by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy with a spectral resolution of ~0.02 cm^−1.The AgO molecules are produced by discharging a gas mixture of O2/Ar with si...The C^2Π-X^2Π(0,0)band of AgO has been reinvestigated by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy with a spectral resolution of ~0.02 cm^−1.The AgO molecules are produced by discharging a gas mixture of O2/Ar with silver needle electrodes in a supersonic jet expansion.By employing a home-made narrowband single longitude mode optical parametric oscillator(SLM-OPO)as the laser source,high-resolution spectra of the C^2Π-X^2Π(0,0)band have been recorded for both 107Ag16O and 109Ag16O isotopologues.The spectroscopic constants of the C^2Π state are consequently determined,with the 109Ag16O one being reported for the first time.The nature of the spin-orbit coupling effect in the C^2Π state is proposed to be due to state mixing with the nearby repulsive 4Σ− and 4Π states.展开更多
