Objective: Specific objectives include evaluating the mechanical properties and structural behaviour of steel and GFRP-reinforced one-way slabs and comparing experimental and theoretical predictions. Methods: Four different mix proportions were arrived at, comprising both conventional concrete and Alccofine-based concrete. In each formulation, a combination of normal river sand and M-sand was utilized. Results: Concrete with Alccofine exhibits superior mechanical properties, while M-sand incorporation minimally affects strength but reduces reliance on natural sand. GFRP-reinforced slabs display distinct brittle behaviour with significant deflections post-cracking, contrasting steel-reinforced slabs’ gradual, ductile failure. Discrepancies between experimental data and design recommendations underscore the need for guideline refinement. Conclusion: Alccofine and M-sand enhance concrete properties, but reinforcement type significantly influences slab behaviour. Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)poses a critical threat to global health and development,with environmental factors—particularly in urban areas—contributing significantly to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes(AR...Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)poses a critical threat to global health and development,with environmental factors—particularly in urban areas—contributing significantly to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs).However,most research to date has been conducted at a local level,leaving significant gaps in our understanding of the global status of antibiotic resistance in urban environments.To address this issue,we thoroughly analyzed a total of 86,213 ARGs detected within 4,728 metagenome samples,which were collected by the Meta SUB International Consortium involving diverse urban environments in 60 cities of 27 countries,utilizing a deep-learning based methodology.Our findings demonstrated the strong geographical specificity of urban environmental resistome,and their correlation with various local socioeconomic and medical conditions.We also identified distinctive evolutionary patterns of ARG-related biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)across different countries,and discovered that the urban environment represents a rich source of novel antibiotics.Our study provides a comprehensive overview of the global urban environmental resistome,and fills a significant gap in our knowledge of large-scale urban antibiotic resistome analysis.展开更多

These real time services are delay sensitive which require...A prominent growth in a wireless communication system provides a wide range of services for a heterogeneous wireless network thus accomplishing user’s needs. These real time services are delay sensitive which requires a continuous internet connection. Assuring a seamless end-end connectivity without link outages at the mid of an action is a crucial ongoing problem. Thus the main objective relies on designing a cognitive algorithm to achieve the practical impossibility of having a sustainable net connection while roaming across various technologies. Hence, to fulfill this and degrade vertical handover (VHO) issues an enhanced fuzzy logic based algorithm is proposed. Further, it focuses on improving the transmission quality with low handover latency, less packet loss and reduced false handover. Along with this the algorithm achieves an accurate prediction in the decision making of an optimal network to which the idle node gets connected. The networking environment also has an efficient mobility management, where the functioning network controls the mobility of concerned mobile nodes. Finally the simulation process of this proposal on a comprehensive test-bed infers the fuzzy logic based algorithm, guaranteed seamless connection. Further, the system has a 1.6% improvement in reducing the handover delay and 1.3% in packet loss reduction than the existing approaches, which in turn improves the transmission quality.展开更多

Both the terms due to oblateness of the smaller primary are considered. Numerical as well as analytical solutions are obtained around the Lagrangian point L1, which lies between the primaries, of the Sun-Earth system. A comparison with the real time flight data of SOHO mission is made. Inclusion of oblateness of the smaller primary can improve the accuracy. Due to the effect of radiation pressure and oblateness, the size and the orbital period of the halo orbit around L1 are found to increase.展开更多
We report variable shear interferometers employing liquid-crystal-based geometric-phase(GP)gratings.Conventional grating-based shear interferometers require two lateral shifts of the gratings to enable phase-shifting ...We report variable shear interferometers employing liquid-crystal-based geometric-phase(GP)gratings.Conventional grating-based shear interferometers require two lateral shifts of the gratings to enable phase-shifting capabilities in x-and y-direction and two axial shifts of the gratings to adjust the shear amount in x-and ydirection,i.e.,these systems need control of four axes mechanically.Here we show that the GP gratings combined with a pixelated polarization camera give instantaneous-phase shifting so that no mechanical movement is necessary to obtain phase shifts.Furthermore,we show that a single fixed shear with a rotational shear axis provides a more robust selection of shears while requiring the control of only one mechanical axis.We verify this statement using spatial domain and frequency domain criteria.We further show that the resolution of the reconstructed wavefield depends not only on the numerical aperture of the imaging system,the pixel size of the detector,or the spatial coherence of the source but also on the ability to determine the shear amount accurately.To improve this,we report a methodology to accurately detect the shear amounts using the second derivative of the autocorrelation function of the measured holograms,which further relaxes the requirements on mechanical stability.展开更多
Despite the seemingly exponential growth of mobile and wireless communication,this same technology aims to offer uninterrupted access to different wireless systems like Radio Communication,Bluetooth,and Wi-Fi to achie...Despite the seemingly exponential growth of mobile and wireless communication,this same technology aims to offer uninterrupted access to different wireless systems like Radio Communication,Bluetooth,and Wi-Fi to achieve better network connection which in turn gives the best quality of service(QoS).Many analysts have established many handover decision systems(HDS)to enable assured continuous mobility between various radio access technologies.Unbrokenmobility is one of themost significant problems considered in wireless communication networks.Each application needs a distinct QoS,so the network choice may shift appropriately.To achieve this objective and to choose the finest networks,it is important to select a best decision making algorithm that chooses the most effective network for every application that the user requires,dependent on QoS measures.Therefore,the main goal of the proposed system is to provide an enhanced vertical handover(VHO)decision making programby using aMulti-CriteriaFuzzy-Based algorithm to choose the best network.Enhanced Multi-Criteria algorithms and a Fuzzy-Based algorithm is implemented successfully for optimal network selection and also to minimize the probability of false handover.Furthermore,a double packet buffer is utilized to decrease the packet loss by 1.5%and to reduce the number of handovers up to 50%compared to the existing systems.In addition,the network setup has an optimized mobilitymanagement system to supervise the movement of the mobile nodes.展开更多

Here, we present ...Formation of coronary artery pseudoaneurysm after percutaneous coronary intervention is rarely reported. A close review of available literature indicates a trend of growing incidence in recent times. Here, we present a case of coronary pseudoaneurysm developing in the left circumflex artery within 50 days of sirolimus-eluting stent implantation in a 47-year-old man who was treated for triple-vessel coronary artery disease. Initially, the patient refused any further treatment. However, considering the rapid growth of pseudoaneurysm and increased severity of symptoms at subsequent follow-up, we decided to treat giant pseudoaneurysm with embolization coils. The procedure was successful and the patient remained asymptomatic thereafter.展开更多
