Many explanations have been given to this changing character and a lot of disputes exist. This paper establishes a multiple analytic framework which is based on a panel data, and the positive research reveals that “inverted-U” hypothesis didn’t abate in China, whether economic opening or urbanization have both thrown “inverted-U” effects on the alternation of Chinese income gap between urban and rural, but these effects have been influenced heavily by the regional administration system and developmental patterns, institutional reform, and policies aiming at overtaking. To reduce Chinese income gap between urban and rural, we must improve the regional administration system and developmental patterns, promote the market reform further, and increase the policy support in agriculture.展开更多
