Methods: 120 cases of gouty arthr...Objective:To observe the clinical effect of a modified Simiao Tang (加味四妙汤 Modified Decoction of Four Wonderful Drugs) for gouty arthritis and its influence on uric acid in blood. Methods: 120 cases of gouty arthritis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 60 cases in each group. Modified Simiao Tang (MST) was orally administered to the patients in the treatment group and allopurinol tablet was orally administered to the patients in the control group. The clinical effects of two groups were evaluated after one-week treatment and uric acid (UA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in blood were determined after 1-month treatment. Results: The total effective rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than in the control group, 86.7% vs. 68.3% (P< 0.01). And the treatment group was also significantly better than the control group in decreasing UA and CRP (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions: MST can significantly improve the symptoms and signs of gouty arthritis and decrease the levels of UA and CRP. It is good for gouty arthritis.展开更多

Methods： 32 cases of acute spondylopathy of blood stasis type were treated with electroacupuncture on Huizong（TE 7） point, Xi （Cleft） point of Triple Energizer Meridian of Hand Shaoyang and Yanglao（SI 6） point, Xi （Cleft） point of Small Intestin Meridian of Hand Taiyang. 31 cases were randomly selected as the research subjects for control group and treated with routine treatment. At the same time changes of hemorheology were observed in the two groups before and after treatment. VAS was used for pain evaluation. Results and conclusion： The total curative effect in treatment group was 93.8%, the average duration of course 20.2±3.1d, pain accumulation points 3.47± 1.45; The total curative effect in contrast group was 83.9%, the average duration of course 26.5± 1.8 d, pain accumulation points 5.67±1.52. P〈 0.01 after t test. Ridit analysis was used for analysis of the therapeutic effect. P〈 0.05. There were some improvements in hemorheology in the two groups before and after treatment. It showed that there was a significant difference in the two groups in therapeutic results and average duration of course. Methods： 185 patients to receive colonoscopy were randomly divided into an acupuncture group （93 cases） and a control group （92 cases） in order of examination. Bilateral points Hegu （LI 4） were needled before colonoscopy in the acupuncture group. No preventive measures were taken in the control group. Pain grades during the period that colonoscope passes the sigmoid and transverse colons were observed and the time of inserting colonoscope was recorded. Results.. One hundred and sixty-five patients underwent colonoscopic insertion successfully, which were taken as the effective cases. Of them, 84 cases were in the acupuncture group and 81 cases in the control group. Statistics indicated that pain grades during colonoscope＇s passing the sigmoid and transverse colons were significantly lower in the acupuncture group than in the control group （P 〈 0.01）; the time of inserting colonoscope was significantly shorter in the acupuncture group than in the control group （P〈 0.05）. Conclusion. Needling bilateral points Hegu（LI 4） before colonoscopy can effectively relieve the patients＇discomfort and shorten the colonoseopic time during the examination.展开更多
