Effects of temperature, particle size, and air humidity on sensibility of typical high-energetic explosives

The production and utilization of high-energetic explosives often pose a range of safety hazards,with sensitivity being a key factor in evaluating these risks.To investigate how temperature,particle size,and air humidity affect the responsiveness of commonly used high-energetic explosives,a series of BAM(Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und-prüfung)impact and friction sensitivity tests were carried out to determine the critical impact energy and critical load pressure of four representative high-energetic explosives(RDX,HMX,PETN and CL-20)under different temperatures,particle sizes,and air humidity conditions.The experimental findings facilitated an examination of temperature and particle size affecting the sensitivity of high-energetic explosives,along with an assessment of the influence of air humidity on sensitivity testing.The results clearly indicate that high-energetic explosives display a substantial decline in critical reaction energy when subjected to micrometre-sized particles and an air humidity level of 45%at a temperature of 90℃.Furthermore,it was noted that the critical reaction energy of high-energetic explosives diminishes with an increase in temperature within 25℃−90℃.In the same vein,as the particle sizes of high-energetic explosives increase,so does the critical reaction energy for micrometre-sized particles.High air humidity significantly affects the sensitivity testing of high-energetic explosives,emphasizing the importance of refraining from conducting sensitivity tests in such conditions. 展开更多

To improve the safety performance of urban tunnels,the fixation transfer characteristics of drivers with different driving experience levels in urban tunnels were investigated.First,a real vehicle test was performed in an urban tunnel,and the eye movement data of 10 drivers with different driving experience levels were collected using a Dikablis eye-tracking system.Second,the driver fixation range was divided into eight areas of visual interest by using the K-means clustering method,and the fixations in different sections of the tunnel were comparatively analyzed.Finally,on the basis of the divided areas of visual interest,fixation transfer rules and the stationary distribution characteristics of drivers with different driving experience levels on different sections of the tunnel were discussed using Markov theory.Results indicate that drivers'probability of repeated fixation is greater and that the efficiency of visual search is lower at internal sections of tunnels than in external sections.Drivers obtain information mainly from the straight upper front and straight lower front areas,and the probabilities of fixation points in these two areas at the threshold and exit sections are significantly higher than those in other sections.Relative to experienced drivers,novice drivers allocate little attention to the straight upper front area and rear-view mirrors.Hence,they have weak fixation when looking forward,and they lack experience in obtaining information on rear-approaching vehicles and controlling speed. 展开更多

The effects of trace addition of Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles(NPs)on thermal reliabilities of Sn−0.5Ag−0.7Cu/Cu solder joints were investigated.Experimental results showed that trace addition of Al_(2)O_(3) NPs could increase the isotheraml aging(IA)and thermal cyclic(TC)lifetimes of Sn−0.5Ag−0.7Cu/Cu joint from 662 to 787 h,and from 1597 to 1824 cycles,respectively.Also,trace addition of Al_(2)O_(3) NPs could slow down the shear force reduction of solder joint during thermal services,which was attributed to the pinning effect of Al_(2)O_(3) NPs on hindering the growth of grains and interfacial intermetallic compounds(IMCs).Theoretically,the growth coefficients of interfacial IMCs in IA process were calculated to be decreased from 1.61×10^(−10 )to 0.79×10^(−10) cm^(2)/h in IA process,and from 0.92×10^(−10) to 0.53×10^(−10) cm^(2)/h in TC process.This indicated that trace addition of Al_(2)O_(3) NPs can improve both IA and TC reliabilities of Sn−0.5Ag−0.7Cu/Cu joint,and a little more obvious in IA reliability. 展开更多
