AgClO4 and ZnCl2 each react with L to give two complexes [Ag2L2(H2O)(ClO4)2] (1) and [ZnLCl2]n (2) respectively, and characterized by FTIR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The results of structural analysis indicated that both complexes crystallize in the monoclinic system with space group P21/c. 1 is a dinuclear complex, and 2 forming 1D zigzag chain by Zn(Ⅱ) linking adjacent ligands in turn.
