The exchange coupling field (Hex) between NiO and NiFe reached 120O e. The composition and chemical states at the interface region of NiO/NiFe were studied using the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and peak decomposition technique. The results show that there are two thermodynamically favorable reactions at NiO/NiFe interface: NiO+Fe=Ni+FeO and 3NiO+2Fe=3Ni+Fe2O3. The thickness of the chemical reaction as estimated by angle-resolved XPS was about 1-1.5 nm. These interface reaction products are magnetic defects, and we believe that the Hex and the coercivity (Hc) of NiO/NiFe are affected by these defects. Moreover, the results also show that there is an intermixing layer at the Ta/NiO (and NiO/Ta) interface due to a thermodynamically favorable reaction: 2Ta+5NiO+Ta2O5. This interface reaction has an effect on the exchange coupling as well. The thickness of the intermixing layer as estimated by XPS depth-profiles was about 8-10 nm.展开更多

Experimental results show that the segregation of liquid occurs when the semi-solid slurry is rolled, which influences the microstructure and mechanics performance of workpiece under room temperature. The globular solid particles can not present plastic deformation unless high solid fraction. At the same time, the mechanics property of workpiece is pretty good while the semi-solid slurry of 1Cr18Ni9Ti material is rolled by a pass and no other treatment.展开更多

Appropriate setting and adjusting the drawbead force is one of the most important pa- rameters in sheet metal forming process control. This paper derives the model of loop drawbead restraining force (DBRF) using plastic forming theory, and gives the min imum blankholding force. Experiments are carried out to verify the proposed DBRF model. The good agreement between the calculated values and experiments data justi- fies the proposed loop drawbead restraining force model.展开更多

It was found that (1) upon aging, the precipitation process takes place prior to recrystallization for the cold-deformed Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg alloy produced by rapid solidification, and the precipitates have a restrained effect on the following recrystallization process; (2) the hindrance of the dispersed fine precipitates to the common recrystallization leads to the simultaneous in situ and discontinuous recrystallization; (3) the resolution of the precipitates in the front of migrating grain boundaries takes place during the nucleation and growth of recrystallization, which results in a supersaturation in the recrystallized zones, while the re-precipitation of the supersaturated solute atoms in vacancies further increases the dispersion hardening effect.展开更多

The raw material, Ca-bentonite, was modified by anchorament of 3-aminopropyltrietoxisilane (APS) and 3,2- aminoethylaminopropyltrimetoxisilane (AEAPS) in the surface of bentonite sample: This type of new occurrence of bentonite is suitable as a raw material for adsorption process. Adsorption behavior of three bentonite types was strongly depending on pH of adsorbate solution, contact time adsorbent/adsorbate, and initial concentration of Cr(VI). The results were confirmed by column method and reveals that the adsorption process of materials accorded by the Redlich-Peterson, Sips, Dubinin-Radushkevich, and tang- muir isotherm models. The exothermic entbalpic values reflected a favorable energetic process for chro- mium ions anchored in the material surfaces. The negative Gibbs free energy results supported the spontaneity of three adsorption reactions with Cr(VI) ions.展开更多

Aluminum addition was made during the coating process to improve the oxidation resistance by developing hexagonal Mo(Si, Al)2 through the development of the halide activated pack cementation coating process on pure Mo substrate. The results show that Mo(Si, Al)2 formed as a main phase on the surface and a little amount of Mo5Si3 also formed. The total thickness of coating is tens ofμm at 1373K. During the cyclic oxidation test at high temperature(at about 1323K in air), mullite (3Al2O3.2SiO2) and some SiO2 formed. The addition of Al is beneficial for MoSi2 coating and the Al-doped coating exhibited only a small weight gain and protected the Mo substrate, while the MoSi2 coating without Al suffered a significant weight loss, indicating a loss of volatile MoO3 after cycles.展开更多

Xyloglucan, which is bound to cellulose and together with it forms the main loading network of plant cell walls, has also been described to decrease in habituated cells, but whether the change on cellulose affects the xyloglucan structure besides its abundance has not been analyzed. Fragmentation analysis with xyloglucan-specific endoglucanase (XEG) and endocellulase revealed that habituation to DCB caused a change in the fine structure of xyloglucan, namely a decrease in fucosyl residues attached to the galactosyl-xylosyl residues along the glucan backbone. After the removal of herbicide from the medium (dehabituated cells), xyloglucan recovered its fucosyl residues. In addition, some cello-oligosaccharides could be detected only in habituated cells' xyloglucan digested by XEG and endocellulase, corresponding to a glucan co- valently bound or co-precipitated with the hemicelluloses. These results show that structural flexibility of cell walls relies in part on the plasticity of xyloglucan composition and opens up new perspectives to further research in this field.展开更多

Thermography revealed hyperthermia confined to painful and hyperalgesic skin of distal extremities, in absence of sympathetic vasomotor denervation. Quantitative sensory testing documented either reduced thresholds or increased suprathreshold magnitude for heat pain. Microneurography identified 13 primary cutaneous C-nocicep- tors generating abnormal impulses in response to electrical stimuli and, in one patient, nociceptors firing spontaneously. All five patients showed examples of double spikes, in which a single brief electrical stimulus occasionally or regularly evoked two impulses. In one case, a second impulse occurred at one of three different delays. In all five patients, warming of the skin increased the probability of a second impulse occurring. Impulse doubling has previously been reported as occurring rarely in normal subjects and is attributable to unfiltering of multiple orthodromic impulses due to unidirectional conduction failure at branch points. A higher incidence of double firing in neuropathic pain patients is probably due to a reduced safety factor for conduction in the terminal arborizations of their C-nociceptors. These observations show that unidirectional conduction block provides a peripheral mechanism of temperature-dependent nociceptor hyperactivity in small-fibre neuropathy that may contribute to hyperalgesia.展开更多
