Among the progeny of crossing common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Yannong 15 with Th. intermedium, a partial amphiploid E990256, with resistance to powdery mildew, was developed. It had 56 chromosomes and could form 28 bivalents in pollen mother cells at metaphase I of meiosis. Resistance verification by race 15 at the seedling stage and by mixed strains of Erysiphales gramnis DC. f. sp. tritici Em. Marchal at the adult stage showed it was immune to powdery mildew at both stages. Gene postulation via 21 isolates of E. gramnis f. sp. tritici and 29 differential hosts showed it was nearly immune to all the isolates used, and its resistance pattern was different from all the mildew resistance genes used, which indicated it probably contained a new resistance gene to powdery mildew. Biochemical verification showed it might convey different Th. intermedium chromosomes from those of the wheat- Th. intermedium partial amphiploids Zhong 1–5. The 3-[(3-chlor-amidopropyl) dimethylammonio]-1-propane-sulphonate (CHAPS)can enhance the dissolution of BBMV, and phosphatidylinositol-specific phosopholipase C(PI-PLC) can cleave the APN from midgut membrane. The APN was primarily purified usinga Mono-Q column. The results of immunoblotting showed that the 120 and 170kDa proteinsin the BBMV could bind Cry1Ac, and 120kDa APN was a glycosylphosphalidylinositol(GPI)-anchored protein. Two Bt-resistant strains (Bt-P, Bt-M) were obtained after beingselected for more than five years in laboratory using Bt insecticides and Bt transgeniccotton incorporated into diet separately. The resistance of Bt-P and Bt-M were 1083.3and 48.7 times that of susceptible strain. The genes encoding APN1 in midgut ofsusceptible and resistant H.armigera were cloned by PCR and RACE techniques. Theinferred amino acid sequences of APN1 possessed the common character of APN family ininsects. Maize plants were artificially infested with neonate larvae of Asian corn borer at the mid-whorl (first-generation), pre-tassel (first- and/or second-generation), and silk (second-generation) growth stages. The transgenic Bt maize hybrid sustained significantly less leaf feeding damage (rating 1.0±0.0) than its negative isoline control (rating 7.3±0.1). With the Bt maize, 1.36.8% of plants were damaged by corn borer tunneling with <0.5 cm tunneling per stalk under different levels of infestation, compared with 100% of plants damaged with 9.325.0 cm tunneling per stalk for the negative isoline control. On average, transgenic Bt maize hybrids had only 0.010.05 tunnels per stalk and no stems were broken. In contrast, the negative isoline control had 3.118.36 tunnels per stalk and 31.273.9% of stems broken. Yields were significantly higher in transgenic Bt maize than in the control. These results demonstrate that transgenic Bt maize can significantly minimize yield losses caused by the Asian corn borer through resistance to the first- and second-generation larvae.展开更多

The results showed that most isolates were less virulent on lines with more than one genes pyramided than those with single resistance gene. The isolates tested were more virulent on IR24 and IRBB10, less virulent on IRBB5, IRBB7 and IRBB21. Based on interactions between isolates and rice near-isogenic lines, 7 cultivars with single gene (IRBB5, IRBB4, IRBB3, IRBB14, IRBB2, IRBB1 and IR24) were chosen as the differentials, and the tested isolates were classified into 7 virulence groups. The reaction patterns of the 7 groups in order were: RRRRRRR, RRRRRRS, RRRRRSS, RR/SRRSSS, RRRSSSS, RRSSSSS, RSSSSSS. The virulence frequencies were 7.69, 6.59, 14.29, 12.09, 14.29, 28.57 and 16.48% respectively. The elementary system for races identification has been established in China based on the results. It will be possible to compare with races in other countries, and the results will facilitate the development of rice resistance breeding to bacterial blight in China.展开更多

Four strains of O. furnacalis were developed by ...The susceptibility of the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) formulation and Bt corn was evaluated using insect bioassays for 6 years. Four strains of O. furnacalis were developed by laboratory selection from the laboratory strain reared on a non-agar semi-artificial diet. The RR-1 strain was exposed to a commercial formulation of B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (Btk) incorporated into the artificial diet,the RR-2 strain was exposed to Bt corn (MON810) tissue incorporated into the diet, and the SS-1 and SS-2 strains were reared on the standard diet with or without non-Bt corn tissues material. Decreasing susceptibility of O. furnacalis to Bt and to Bt corn were found in each selected strain although the ED50 and larval weight fluctuated from generation to generation. The resistance of Bt-exposed strain (RR-1) to Btk increased 48-fold by generation 39; the Bt corn-exposed strain (RR-2) increased its resistance 37-fold to Btk by generation 24. No larvae of SS-1 survived when they were exposed to the leaves of Bt corn, Bt11 and MON810. However, 2-54% of the RR-1 (generation 46) and RR-2 (generation 20) larvae survived a 3 day-exposure to the leaves of Bt11 and MON810. The survival of both selected strains on Bt corn silk increased by 10-69%, and the larval weights after many generations selection were increased by 15-22% compared with the unselected susceptible strain. The young larvae were much more susceptible to Bt than older larvae. The highest mortality occurred when the larvae were exposed to Bt at the neonate stage. All of the results suggested that ACB could not only develop resistance to Bt preparation but also to Bt corn. Bt had significant effects on the growth and development of Asian corn borer than on the larval mortality. In order to maintain the long-term effectiveness of Bt pesticide and Bt corn, the resistance management should pay much attention to the larvae that may have opportunities to grow and developed on non-Bt corn or alternate hosts before they attack th展开更多

The result showed that: (1) Under 21-31°C and 1 - 9 prey densities/leaf fragment condition, the prey consumptions of A. cucumeris increased with the temperature or prey density; (2) In 1:3 predator-prey ratio treatment, the suppression of P. citri (Ro=34.0053; T=19.4369; t=3.8204) was rather weak, it was enhanced as the ratio over 5:30, and the populations of P. citri in these treatments can be fully controlled within 4-5 days; (3) Under 25±1°C, 80-85% RH and 15L: 9D illumination conditions, the net reproductive rate, mean generation duration and the time for population double increase of P. citri (Ro=34.0053; T=19.4369; t=3.8204) were higher than those of A. cucumeris (Ro=21.8750; T=16.8943; t=3.7954). While the intrinsic rate of increase and finite rate of increase of the former (rm=0.1814; λ=1.1989) were lower than those of the latter (rm=0.1826; λ=1.2004). These results indicated that A. cucumeris is a desirable bio-control agent to suppress P. citri at lower population stage in citrus orchard.展开更多

The total ...Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) strain C002 contains crylAa, cry2Ab, crylCa insecticidal crystal genes and an unkown gene cryX, among which crylCa is located in a 6 -9 kb EcoR I fragment of the chromosomal DNA. The total DNA and the plasmids DNA libraries of C002 were constructed in Bt-E. coli shuttle plasmid pHT315 by inserting 6 - 9 kb chromosomal and plasmid DNA fragments prepared respectively with EcoR I complete and 5au3A I partial digestion. On the basis of every 50 transformants pooled together from 5-10 tubes, the pools containing about 2 000 transformants from the plasmids DNA library and 400 transformants from the total DNA library were rapidly screened by PCR-RFLP. Clones containing crylAa, cryX, crylCa , and cry2Ab were isolated and named as pHT-1Aa, pHT-X, pHT-1Ca and pHT-2Ab respectively. Restriction analysis indicated that pHT-1Aa, pHT-1Ca and pHT-2Ab had the typical physical map of the homologous cry genes. Furthermore, each plasmid was transferred into Bt acrystalliferous strain cryB- by eletropora-tion. SDS-PAGE result showed that transformant of pHT-1Ca expressed 130 kDa protein and bioassay result proved its high toxicity against Spodotera exigua 1st instar larvae with 100% corrected motality.展开更多

Observation on the first three times of flying, after the wasps being released. revealed that the first flying was an escape style and not showed preference to land on any special crops. 81. 82% wasps landed on corn leaves at the second flying but stayed for just about 3 min. In the sweet potato-peanut field, 51.43% wasps landed on sweet potato in contrast with 48.57% landed on peanuts and in the afternoon 33. 53% on sweet potato compared with 76.4% landed on peanut field. Majority preferred landing on peanut field on the third flying in both type fields of inter-cropping. Behavior of flying was different between morning and afternoon. The time length between two flies showed that wasps were more active in the morning than in the afternoon.展开更多

We used this plasmid to integrate the iceA into chromosomal DNA of Ent. cloacae and obtained the transgentic strain Enc1.2022 ina. In this transgenic Ent. cloacae, iceA would never be transferred elsewhere through transposition, and constantly expressed high ice nucleation activity even in the absence of antibiotic pressure. The transgenic strain was ingested by corn borer larvae. Over the 7 d after ingestion, the mean supercooling points (SCPs) of the larvae was about 10℃ higher than those of larvae treated with distilled water (control). The maintenance of these high SCPs was related to the stable gut colonization of transgenic strain. At 6th day post ingestion, the larva was exposed at 5 or 7℃ for 12 h, the percentages of larvae frozen to death were 85 and 100%, respectively. In contrast, none or a small proportion of control larvae was frozen to death under the same conditions. Further studies demonstrated that this transgenic strain bore weak epiphytic ability. Therefore, this genetically engineered strain may be a promising candidate for control of insect pests in agricultural fields.展开更多

Two allelopathic rice accessions, PI312777 and Allelopathy1, significantly suppressedthe growth of associated weeds in the field. Moreover, their weed-suppressing effectswere correlated with the cultivation patterns. The weed-suppressing effects of throwingand transplanting were more effective than that of direct seeding. Furthermore, theamounts of allelochemicals (resorcinols, flavones and hydroxamic acids) produced andreleased from two allelopathic rice accessions were much higher than that from a non-allelopathic rice variety Hua-Jing-Xian1, and reached the maximum concentration at the6th leaf stage. Differences in the weed-suppressing effects of rice accessions appear toresult from the accessions producing and releasing different amounts of allelochemicalsin the field. Further research confirmed that in PI312777 plants, allelochemicals weresynthesized by the above-ground parts, and then secreted through the root tissues. Roottissues of PI312777 plants never produced the allelochemicals. Root exudates fromPI312777 could significantly inhibit the growth of E. crus-galli surrounding rice plantsin water culture. However, when activated carbon was added to the culture solution, whichcould absorb allelochemicals from root exudates, the growth of E. crus-galli was nolonger significantly inhibited. Weed-suppressing effects of rice accessions depended onallelopathy, cultivation patterns and other factors in rice fields, while allelopathywas one of important factors. Interestingly, the amounts of allelochemicals produced andreleased from allelopathic rice plants may be induced by the presence of E. crus-galli.This suggests that there is a possible chemical recognition between rice and E. crus-galli.展开更多

When mixed with sex pheromone (Ph), some volatiles, e.g. phenyl acetaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, phenylethanol, methylsalicylate, linalool, benzaldehyde, (Z)-3-hexenol, (Z)-3-hexenylacetate, (Z)-6-nonenol, cineole, (E)-2-hexenal, and geraniol elicited stronger responses from male antennae than Ph alone. Wind tunnel bioassay demonstrated that various volatiles could either enhance or inhibit the effect of synthetic sex pheromone. (E)-2-hexenal, (Z)-3-hexenol and linalool in combination with Ph could not induce any male to land on source at all, whereas phenyl acetaldehyde, benzaldehyde, (Z)-6-nonenol and salicylaldehyde combined with Ph enhanced male response rates by 58.63%, 50.33%, 51.85% and 127.78%, respectively, compared to Ph alone. These results suggested that some volatiles shouldmodify sex pheromone caused behavior and that some of them could possibly be used as a tool for disrupting mating or for enhancing the effect of synthetic sex pheromone in the field.展开更多

However, INA bacteria抯 ineffi-cient colonization on the surface or in the guts of insects, and the high incidence of frost injury induced by their release hampered the application of INA bacteria in controlling in-sect pests in agricultural fields. In this study, we constructed a recombinant plasmid mob-Tn5-iceA with the ability of broad-host-range conjugal mobilization and integration of the ina gene of iceA into chromosomal DNA of many gram-negative bacteria by Tn5 transposition. 文摘Ninety one isolates of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae were collected from different rice- growing regions in China and determined for their virulence on 24 rice near-isogenic lines containing single resistance gene and 2-4 genes: IRBB1 (Xa1), IRBB2 (Xa2), IRBB3 (Xa3), IRBB4 (Xa4), IRBB5 (xa5), IRBB7 (Xa7), IRBB8 (xa8), IRBB10 (Xa10), IRBB11 (Xa11), IRBB13 (xa13), IRBB14 (Xa14), IRBB21 (Xa21), IR24 (Xa18), IRBB50 (Xa4 + xa5), IRBB51 (Xa4 + xa13), IRBB52 (Xa4 + Xa21), IRBB53 (xa5 + xa13), IRBB54 (xa5 + Xa21), IRBB55 (xa13 + Xa21), IRBB56 (Xa4 + xa5 + xa13), IRBB57 (Xa4 + xa5 + Xa21), IRBB58 (Xa4 + xa13 + Xa21), IRBB59 (xa5 + xa13 + Xa21) and IRBB60 (Xa4 + xa5 + xa13 + Xa21). The results showed that most isolates were less virulent on lines with more than one genes pyramided than those with single resistance gene. The isolates tested were more virulent on IR24 and IRBB10, less virulent on IRBB5, IRBB7 and IRBB21. Based on interactions between isolates and rice near-isogenic lines, 7 cultivars with single gene (IRBB5, IRBB4, IRBB3, IRBB14, IRBB2, IRBB1 and IR24) were chosen as the differentials, and the tested isolates were classified into 7 virulence groups. The reaction patterns of the 7 groups in order were: RRRRRRR, RRRRRRS, RRRRRSS, RR/SRRSSS, RRRSSSS, RRSSSSS, RSSSSSS. The virulence frequencies were 7.69, 6.59, 14.29, 12.09, 14.29, 28.57 and 16.48% respectively. The elementary system for races identification has been established in China based on the results. It will be possible to compare with races in other countries, and the results will facilitate the development of rice resistance breeding to bacterial blight in China.

文摘The susceptibility of the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) formulation and Bt corn was evaluated using insect bioassays for 6 years. Four strains of O. furnacalis were developed by laboratory selection from the laboratory strain reared on a non-agar semi-artificial diet. The RR-1 strain was exposed to a commercial formulation of B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (Btk) incorporated into the artificial diet,the RR-2 strain was exposed to Bt corn (MON810) tissue incorporated into the diet, and the SS-1 and SS-2 strains were reared on the standard diet with or without non-Bt corn tissues material. Decreasing susceptibility of O. furnacalis to Bt and to Bt corn were found in each selected strain although the ED50 and larval weight fluctuated from generation to generation. The resistance of Bt-exposed strain (RR-1) to Btk increased 48-fold by generation 39; the Bt corn-exposed strain (RR-2) increased its resistance 37-fold to Btk by generation 24. No larvae of SS-1 survived when they were exposed to the leaves of Bt corn, Bt11 and MON810. However, 2-54% of the RR-1 (generation 46) and RR-2 (generation 20) larvae survived a 3 day-exposure to the leaves of Bt11 and MON810. The survival of both selected strains on Bt corn silk increased by 10-69%, and the larval weights after many generations selection were increased by 15-22% compared with the unselected susceptible strain. The young larvae were much more susceptible to Bt than older larvae. The highest mortality occurred when the larvae were exposed to Bt at the neonate stage. All of the results suggested that ACB could not only develop resistance to Bt preparation but also to Bt corn. Bt had significant effects on the growth and development of Asian corn borer than on the larval mortality. In order to maintain the long-term effectiveness of Bt pesticide and Bt corn, the resistance management should pay much attention to the larvae that may have opportunities to grow and developed on non-Bt corn or alternate hosts before they attack th
文摘In this paper, the numeral response and main parameters of experimental population life table were analyzed for determining the suppressing ability of Amblyseius cucumeris on Panonychus citri. The result showed that: (1) Under 21-31°C and 1 - 9 prey densities/leaf fragment condition, the prey consumptions of A. cucumeris increased with the temperature or prey density; (2) In 1:3 predator-prey ratio treatment, the suppression of P. citri (Ro=34.0053; T=19.4369; t=3.8204) was rather weak, it was enhanced as the ratio over 5:30, and the populations of P. citri in these treatments can be fully controlled within 4-5 days; (3) Under 25±1°C, 80-85% RH and 15L: 9D illumination conditions, the net reproductive rate, mean generation duration and the time for population double increase of P. citri (Ro=34.0053; T=19.4369; t=3.8204) were higher than those of A. cucumeris (Ro=21.8750; T=16.8943; t=3.7954). While the intrinsic rate of increase and finite rate of increase of the former (rm=0.1814; λ=1.1989) were lower than those of the latter (rm=0.1826; λ=1.2004). These results indicated that A. cucumeris is a desirable bio-control agent to suppress P. citri at lower population stage in citrus orchard.
文摘Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) strain C002 contains crylAa, cry2Ab, crylCa insecticidal crystal genes and an unkown gene cryX, among which crylCa is located in a 6 -9 kb EcoR I fragment of the chromosomal DNA. The total DNA and the plasmids DNA libraries of C002 were constructed in Bt-E. coli shuttle plasmid pHT315 by inserting 6 - 9 kb chromosomal and plasmid DNA fragments prepared respectively with EcoR I complete and 5au3A I partial digestion. On the basis of every 50 transformants pooled together from 5-10 tubes, the pools containing about 2 000 transformants from the plasmids DNA library and 400 transformants from the total DNA library were rapidly screened by PCR-RFLP. Clones containing crylAa, cryX, crylCa , and cry2Ab were isolated and named as pHT-1Aa, pHT-X, pHT-1Ca and pHT-2Ab respectively. Restriction analysis indicated that pHT-1Aa, pHT-1Ca and pHT-2Ab had the typical physical map of the homologous cry genes. Furthermore, each plasmid was transferred into Bt acrystalliferous strain cryB- by eletropora-tion. SDS-PAGE result showed that transformant of pHT-1Ca expressed 130 kDa protein and bioassay result proved its high toxicity against Spodotera exigua 1st instar larvae with 100% corrected motality.
文摘A study was conducted in corn-peanut and sweet potato-peanut fields on the flying behavior of the white grub parasitoid Tiphia popilliavora Rohwer wasps. Observation on the first three times of flying, after the wasps being released. revealed that the first flying was an escape style and not showed preference to land on any special crops. 81. 82% wasps landed on corn leaves at the second flying but stayed for just about 3 min. In the sweet potato-peanut field, 51.43% wasps landed on sweet potato in contrast with 48.57% landed on peanuts and in the afternoon 33. 53% on sweet potato compared with 76.4% landed on peanut field. Majority preferred landing on peanut field on the third flying in both type fields of inter-cropping. Behavior of flying was different between morning and afternoon. The time length between two flies showed that wasps were more active in the morning than in the afternoon.

文摘Using the minitransposon pMini-Tn5 and the ice-nucleation active (INA) gene of iceA, a suicide recombinant plasmid pTnice1 was constructed, which has the ability of broad-host-range conjugal mobilization and integration of iceA into chromosomal DNA of many gram-negative bacteria by Tn5 transposition. We used this plasmid to integrate the iceA into chromosomal DNA of Ent. cloacae and obtained the transgentic strain Enc1.2022 ina. In this transgenic Ent. cloacae, iceA would never be transferred elsewhere through transposition, and constantly expressed high ice nucleation activity even in the absence of antibiotic pressure. The transgenic strain was ingested by corn borer larvae. Over the 7 d after ingestion, the mean supercooling points (SCPs) of the larvae was about 10℃ higher than those of larvae treated with distilled water (control). The maintenance of these high SCPs was related to the stable gut colonization of transgenic strain. At 6th day post ingestion, the larva was exposed at 5 or 7℃ for 12 h, the percentages of larvae frozen to death were 85 and 100%, respectively. In contrast, none or a small proportion of control larvae was frozen to death under the same conditions. Further studies demonstrated that this transgenic strain bore weak epiphytic ability. Therefore, this genetically engineered strain may be a promising candidate for control of insect pests in agricultural fields.

文摘There are eight examples briefly given in this paper, namely, (1) Polymyxa graminis and the cereal viruses it transmits; (2) the geographical types and facultative migration of cotton bollworm as well as the safety of Bt transgenic cotton; (3) development of crop near-isogenic lines with resistance to diseases; (4) molecular-biological researches induced resistance of rice by infection of blast fungus; (5) to use cytological and molecular-biological techniques for breeding wheat varieties resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus; (6) mass rearing and field releasing of Microplitis mediator for cotton bollworm control; (7) identification and recombination of insecticidal crystal genes of Bacillus thuringiensis; and (8) interplanting of diverse resistance rice varieties for sustainable control of blast disease; which reflect the general situation of recent advances in plant protection researches of China.

文摘Two allelopathic rice accessions, PI312777 and Allelopathy1, significantly suppressedthe growth of associated weeds in the field. Moreover, their weed-suppressing effectswere correlated with the cultivation patterns. The weed-suppressing effects of throwingand transplanting were more effective than that of direct seeding. Furthermore, theamounts of allelochemicals (resorcinols, flavones and hydroxamic acids) produced andreleased from two allelopathic rice accessions were much higher than that from a non-allelopathic rice variety Hua-Jing-Xian1, and reached the maximum concentration at the6th leaf stage. Differences in the weed-suppressing effects of rice accessions appear toresult from the accessions producing and releasing different amounts of allelochemicalsin the field. Further research confirmed that in PI312777 plants, allelochemicals weresynthesized by the above-ground parts, and then secreted through the root tissues. Roottissues of PI312777 plants never produced the allelochemicals. Root exudates fromPI312777 could significantly inhibit the growth of E. crus-galli surrounding rice plantsin water culture. However, when activated carbon was added to the culture solution, whichcould absorb allelochemicals from root exudates, the growth of E. crus-galli was nolonger significantly inhibited. Weed-suppressing effects of rice accessions depended onallelopathy, cultivation patterns and other factors in rice fields, while allelopathywas one of important factors. Interestingly, the amounts of allelochemicals produced andreleased from allelopathic rice plants may be induced by the presence of E. crus-galli.This suggests that there is a possible chemical recognition between rice and E. crus-galli.
文摘Electroantennogram (EAG) evaluation of selected compounds from wilted leaves of black poplar, Populus nigra, showed that phenyl acetaldehyde, methyl salicylate, (E)-2-hexenal elicited strong responses from male antennae of Helicoverpa armigera. When mixed with sex pheromone (Ph), some volatiles, e.g. phenyl acetaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, phenylethanol, methylsalicylate, linalool, benzaldehyde, (Z)-3-hexenol, (Z)-3-hexenylacetate, (Z)-6-nonenol, cineole, (E)-2-hexenal, and geraniol elicited stronger responses from male antennae than Ph alone. Wind tunnel bioassay demonstrated that various volatiles could either enhance or inhibit the effect of synthetic sex pheromone. (E)-2-hexenal, (Z)-3-hexenol and linalool in combination with Ph could not induce any male to land on source at all, whereas phenyl acetaldehyde, benzaldehyde, (Z)-6-nonenol and salicylaldehyde combined with Ph enhanced male response rates by 58.63%, 50.33%, 51.85% and 127.78%, respectively, compared to Ph alone. These results suggested that some volatiles shouldmodify sex pheromone caused behavior and that some of them could possibly be used as a tool for disrupting mating or for enhancing the effect of synthetic sex pheromone in the field.

文摘Ice nucleation active (INA) bacteria are the most potent heterogeneous ice nuclei in nature, which have become an important biological resource for diverse applica-tions. Many researches have proved that INA bacteria can raise the supercooling points (SCPs) of insect pests, then reduce their cold hardiness. However, INA bacteria抯 ineffi-cient colonization on the surface or in the guts of insects, and the high incidence of frost injury induced by their release hampered the application of INA bacteria in controlling in-sect pests in agricultural fields. In this study, we constructed a recombinant plasmid mob-Tn5-iceA with the ability of broad-host-range conjugal mobilization and integration of the ina gene of iceA into chromosomal DNA of many gram-negative bacteria by Tn5 transposition. In addition, Ent. cloacae strains stably carrying iceA and expressing high ice nucleation activity (INA), even in the absence of antibi-otic pressure, were constructed through conjugal mobiliza-tion and Tn5 transposition. Ent. cloacae strains have been reported to be able to efficiently colonize in the guts of in-sects, but have weak plant epiphytic ability. Therefore, these transgenic Ent. cloacae may be promising candidates for control of insect pests in agricultural fields.
