Achieving dynamic self-repair of frictional pairs, extending equipment applicable life and reducing wear by self-repairing additives had important economic and social benefits.Self-repairing additives had broad applicable and developing prospects.The repairing principles, the varieties of self-repairing additives and the detecting methods of repairing effects were summarized.
