When they arrived in Japan, the businessmen from the Tang Dynasty were arranged to live in specified hotels. Thus, they could only do the business in limited areas. Whether their residence was a Honglu House for the reception of the foreign envoy or it was just a common hotel needs to be further investigated, because this implied the attunements of the foreign policies of the Japanese government to Tang Song and the neighboring countries. Later on,the businessmen from the Song Dynasty went out the hotel and built Tang Houses themselves. Thereafter, the trade between two countries changed from " Hotel Trade " to " Tang House Trade",which marked the great transformation of trade models of the Song businessmen in the trade between Song and Japan. This also implied the foreign policy of Japan to Tang and Song, and this meanwhile established the basic prototype of Sino-Japanese relations.
