摘要
内地会(China Inland Mission)传教士叶长青(James.Huston Edgar,1872～1936年)是清末民国时期川边传教布道的重要人物,著述颇丰,在人类学、地理学、考古学、宗教学等方面有一定建树。他还对川边嘉绒藏族和白石崇拜宗教信仰进行过考察。经研究考证,他的中文名字为叶长青,国籍为澳大利亚。从中华续行委办会调查特委会编《中华归主》第四章第五节"川边"内容的出处来源看,编辑存在有疏漏不当之处。
James Huston Edgar（1872-1936）,a missionary of China lnland Mission,is an important figure and known as a pioneer missionary in the border of Sichuan during the late Qing Dynasty and Republican China.He published many works and made great achievements in anthropology,geography,archeology and religion,etc.According to the research of this paper,his Chinese name is Ye Chang-qing and his nationality is Australia.He also studies on the kia-Rong（jiarong） Tibetan lived in Chwanpien and the Litholatry religious Belief.
