摘要
本文基于公开发表的权威数据,对美国中小学的英语学习者总体规模和具体分布情况进行了梳理。据此,选取来自美国30个州的54个公立学区作为样本,对其英语作为二语的课程设置与教材选用情况进行了调查,描绘了美国中小学针对英语非母语学生的英语教材使用概况,在代表性教材分析的基础上讨论了其对我国中小学英语教材编写的启示意义。
Based on published data from authoritative sources,this paper reports the overall scale and geographical distribution of K-12 English learners in American schools.It then explores the English teaching programs and materials in 54 school districts from 30 states,analyzes the characteristics of some widely-used textbooks,and discusses the valuable lessons that can be drawn to improve ESL textbooks for elementary and secondary school kids in China.
